Clashing with management
Any tips on clashing with management? Just started in recruitment, and they're adamant that cold BD should go something like "Hey how are you...rapport ...this is how we're different to other recruitment agencies blah blah blah". Feels forced and a bit cringe to do. I'm committing to this phonejacker/dennehy technique but get shot down by management as it's 'bad for the company brand'. Not sure if anyone else has experienced something similar or if it's because recruitment differs to traditional sales. Cheers

This is a tale as old as time. When they see that it works better than what they teach they'll either let you roll with it or insist that you change. That's when you need to make a decision. Speaking from experience here .
Finance sector - dealing with brokers!
Is anyone in the finance industry dealing with/prospecting to brokers? 😉 Would love some help with a pitch or understanding the sector better as I'm just one week in and it's a lot to take on in terms of understanding how deals are structed and also the terms and language used that is unique to the market.

Sales job ads
Good god these are eye opening. There's a tone of buzzwords to keep an eye out for as red flags for anyone... Rockstar Ability to convince and persuade Build relationships Degree educated Mad that people leading sales teams still don't understand sales..... 🤔

Haha - before I was in the industry I thought the companies that used those buzzwords were "Cool", "edgy" and would perhaps be great to work for...
What You vs Who You
So as we know there's a lot of anxiety in sales, and I'm re reading the Sandler Book and came across the powerful section about the What You are vs Who You are and wanted to share In essence, too many sales people equate what they do for a job as to who they are as a person. Ie, "I am a salesman". However the danger here is by wrapping your identity into your job, when you have a bad time at your job, your identity takes a beating too. I've done it, and still do it! You have a bad week or month or whatever and you become more quiet, more stressed and just different outside of work. What You Are gets a beating so it starts to change Who You Are. Sandler talks about separating these areas of yourself. So when you go work as a sales person, your almost playing a role like an actor does. When your working day finishes that role is finished for the day, you remove the costume and you return to You. Despite what happened that day, get a huge sale, don't get a sale etc, the You remains the same always. It takes conscious work and effort but it helps massively. Remember: You are not a SALESPERSON, your just a person who does sales.

There is a sales Munro (a complete dickhead) and an everyday Munro (still a bit of a dickhead) Just goes to show that detachment truly is such a key element of sales.
Mobile Phone data
Hey guys - currently using ZoomInfo and have trialed Apollo, RR and Lusha recently but still not happy with amount of mobile numbers - Cognisim has been suggested What platform gives you the most and reliable mobile numbers for your prospects?

They all do the same thing in my eyes. No single platform has better data than the other. Pretty hit and miss with cognism as well in honesty.
