Awesome!!!!
Join me Thursday
I’m really excited to share some important updates that will help us continue building a strong, impactful community of emotionally intelligent servant leaders. Over the past few months, I’ve observed that there’s an opportunity for us to better position ourselves in the marketplace, ensuring that we align even more closely with our mission. These upcoming changes will focus on three key areas: education, visibility, and community—all designed to strengthen how we present ourselves and what BLN stands for. One shift we can make together is moving away from referring to BLN as a “networking group.” While that’s an easy label to use, it doesn’t capture the unique value we bring. BLN is about so much more than networking—it’s about empowering leaders with the tools to grow their businesses and make a real difference in their communities. I’d love for you to join me this Thursday at 4:30pm EST for a special call where I’ll be sharing all the details about these updates, including what’s included, pricing adjustments, and new messaging. If you're interested, drop your email below, and I'll send over the invite! Please note that this call won’t be recorded, so if you’d like to give input, share ideas, or ask questions, this is the time to do so. I’m excited to share these changes and can’t wait to see you on the call! Thursday at 4:30pm EST!

Doing everything right and nothing
The last 2 months have been frustrating. Just got off a call with a business partner yesterday. According to him I’ve been doing everything right with no resulting visit to the bank. As you can imagine, I feel like giving up. That’s my negative self talk. Knowing upwards of 70% of self talk is negative…I changed it. I use meditation and positive affirmations to balance it out. That means I still hear the negative but don’t engage or try to counter it, instead I let those thoughts alone to fade away. And they do. So badly want to whine and cry out “why me!?” Whining and wishes don’t produce results so I changed my question to “What am I learning? What behaviors and attitudes can I change to bring in more engagement? How do I grow more? Am I working with the wrong people?” “How do I meet the right people?” The answers to these questions are much more useful than the negative self loathing answers to “Why me? “Change your questions change your life (great book - read it). You’re not alone in your business struggles. Hope this encourages you to never give up. Adapt, overcome, and carry on my friends. Carry on.

I use the negative situations as a learning tool. Instead of getting upset or being negative, I keep learning how I can do things different in the future. I also flip the negative into an opportunity when possible!
It’s okay to say no…
In a recent conversation with a longtime friend, I was reminded of an essential lesson in servant leadership—one that speaks directly to the heart of what we’re building here at BLN. My friend shared his struggle between his ministry work, which centers on building relationships, and the world of business, where he felt the pressure to focus on financial gain. As we talked about the possibility of him joining our community, it became clear that his approach didn’t align with our core values. Despite his claims of wanting deeper connections, his actions showed that he was more interested in opportunities that paid him rather than truly serving others. It was a tough realization, but it reinforced something crucial: For real growth, you must be willing to say “No,” even if it costs you a sale. In BLN, we’re committed to building a community of servant leaders who prioritize relationships and service over transactions. That means being crystal clear about who you want to attract into your world. It means asking the right questions to vet potential members, ensuring they align with our mission. And it means having the courage to say “No” when someone doesn’t fit—even if it’s uncomfortable. Remember, your perfect client isn’t just someone who can pay you; it’s someone who shares your vision and values. Stay true to your mission, and the right people will be drawn to you.

This is so true! This community isn't for everybody! I want to build relationships with people who have a servant heart like I do.
