Doing everything right and nothing
The last 2 months have been frustrating. Just got off a call with a business partner yesterday. According to him I’ve been doing everything right with no resulting visit to the bank.
As you can imagine, I feel like giving up. That’s my negative self talk. Knowing upwards of 70% of self talk is negative…I changed it. I use meditation and positive affirmations to balance it out. That means I still hear the negative but don’t engage or try to counter it, instead I let those thoughts alone to fade away. And they do.
So badly want to whine and cry out “why me!?” Whining and wishes don’t produce results so I changed my question to “What am I learning? What behaviors and attitudes can I change to bring in more engagement? How do I grow more? Am I working with the wrong people?” “How do I meet the right people?” The answers to these questions are much more useful than the negative self loathing answers to “Why me? “Change your questions change your life (great book - read it).
You’re not alone in your business struggles. Hope this encourages you to never give up. Adapt, overcome, and carry on my friends. Carry on.
