Hey everyone! I’ve heard so many people say that one of the best ways to get to know a firm is to speak to people who work there. The best way to do that is in person but if you can’t, then there’s LinkedIn. However, I’m confused about how to approach the conversation. I’ve asked trainees about the culture, seats, partner approachability etc. however I want to ask better questions so that I can get more targeted information. Any tips and example questions would be helpful, Thank you!

Hi everyone! I’m setting myself a goal to improve my commercial awareness by mid September ( if I don’t set myself a target, I probably won’t get it done). I was wondering if any of you have any tips for me? Currently I am reading ZipLaw as well as listening to the FT News Briefing podcast every day however I’m not sure what else I should be doing to actively improve it. I have read books such as “ all you need to know about the city” so I have a good base, I’m just not sure how to develop it. Any advice would be fantastic!

I have been trying to secure a training contract however unfortunately most of my applications don’t make it past the initial screening. I know I have the grades and extracurriculars however I feel there is something royally wrong in my written applications. Do you have any tips on how I can improve or can you host a workshop going through different application question and how to answer them?

Hi everyone! My name is Maryam and I am a recent law graduate from the University of Leicester. A little bit about me, I grew up in Pakistan and moved to the UK when I was 15.
