Dust collector / air filters in powder coating booth
I made my own paint booth prior to starting my powder coating. I’m getting tired of cleaning up the mess from all the powder all over my shop. Who has made their own paint booths and what are you using for dust collection system?

@Scott Tupper Great. Those cars look amazing. Do you have any picture of them?
Definition of Back Ionization🧨
Back ionization is a phenomenon that occurs when an excessive amount of electrostatic charge builds up on the surface of a part being coated. Here’s how it happens and why it can be problematic: Cause of Back Ionization - An electrostatic charge is applied to powder particles in powder coating, allowing them to adhere to a grounded metal part. - As powder builds up on the surface, the coating layer thickens, and an increased electrostatic field develops. - When this field becomes too strong, it can create localized high-intensity charges, which repel additional powder from adhering to the surface.

Epoxy resins in Powder Coating (facts)
Epoxies resins where the first thermoset powders used in the powder coating industry. They were introduced in the 50’s starting with the Bisophenol A as the first type of epoxy resins. Finishing the 60’s, there was gotten into the market a second Epoxy resin called Novolac. This second resin can be adjusted by the resin manufacturers. All epoxy coatings have poor exterior weathering resistance. These epoxy coats start to chalking and discoloring. Saying that, their use is generally restricted to interior or underground exposures. In order to make them weathering (UV) resistant, they have to be mixed with other resins or used as a primer coat. We are going deep into the epoxy resins, and in other article we can discuss about the Hybrids and other resins that are important in the powder coating industry. Properties Epoxy resins have good mechanical resistant, excellent adhesion and durability. The strong chemical bonding helps create a durable coating that resists chipping, cracking and peeling.
