How many APs?
How many APs are you planning on taking or already took. I was at the dentist while doing this 😂 If you want you can specify which APs you took, and if you picked 25 or more please say how many! (optional):

Because of my school's curriculum, I took AP human geography in 9th grade. I also plan on taking AP World History, AP physics, AP precalculus AP bio/AP psychology (I'm going to self-study one of these. I'm not so sure which one though), and AP CSA this year. Junior year: AP composition and lit, AP Spanish, AP calc BC, and AP US history. Senior year: AP chemistry.
Science Fair, Research, College, and More!
Hey everyone! I'm interviewing two of the https://www.sciencefair.io/coaching/calls coaches today - Snigtha Mohanraj and Eli Hanechak. I will be posting their tips and advice on my YouTube channel. Snigtha- Snigtha’s science fair journey has been filled with accolades upon accolades from middle school. In 2020, Snigtha was a Top 30 National Finalist in the Broadcom MASTERS. In 2021, Snigtha was a finalist and third place in the 3M Young Scientist Challenge. Guess what happened in 2022? Snigtha won 1st Place at the Connecticut Junior Science & Humanities Symposium and qualified for the International Science & Engineering Fair. Fast forward a couple of years and Snigtha has been recognized several more times as a RISE Global Winner, and through the US Senate Youth Program, ISEF, JSHS, and more. Eli- Eli Hanechak is a rising senior at Pope Francis Preparatory School, MA and researcher at the Stratton Lab of University of Massachusetts Amherst. In 2023, Eli won the Sanofi Specialty Care Grand Prize Award at the Western Massachusetts Science and Engineering Fair. Eli then went on to win the Second Place Grand Award at the International Science and Engineering Fair. Eli was named a Massachusetts Delegate to the American Junior Academy of Science, and a National STEM Challenge Finalist. This is a crazy impressive set of science fair wins, but what I find even more impressive is Eli’s filed patent for “ARTIFICIALLY ENHANCED BIODEGRADATION OF POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE.” I wanted to take some audience questions from you all! If you come up with a super good question, I'll feature it in the video and give you a shout-out!

How do you get your ideas for your research? How can you get an internship? What was your biggest struggle doing research? When competing in science fairs like ISEF and ISEF - affiliated fairs, do you think doing a research project that adds on to a previously done project would lower your chances on doing well in these fairs? What is the best way to get a mentor with little to no experience?
Extracurricular Review So Far
7-8th Grade - Yorker Club (Community Service) - 20 Community Service Hours Local Library - Inducted into Middle School Honor Society 9th Grade - Robotics Club (on a team with my friends but didn't go as far as we hoped) - Science Club (Wasn't Able to go to SciOly as I was a Freshman) - Coding Club 10th Grade - Science Club (Couldn't Attend SciOly due to Not being apart of A or B Team (Juniors and Senior Dominated) - Sophomore Class Club (Ran For Secretary for Junior year but lost) - Chess Society - Coding Club Summer Plan: Research internship? Start Nonprofit? Indep Research? SAT Study and Practice Start more Community Service, (Make Actual Difference - ) 11th Grade Extracurricular Plan: - Science Club (Acquire Position?) (Attend SciOly?) - Once a Week - Coding Club (Start Participate in More Hackathons) - Once a Month - Chess Society - Once a Week - Junior Class Club (Didn't win election -> but Try to be invested - "decorating committee for homecoming or class night, leaders spearheading different events, social media teams, fundraising coordinating" ) - Once a Week - Key Club? - Once a Month - Math Athletes (Math Competitions?) - Once a Month - Robotics Club? This is my plan for 11th Grade and you can see my achievements for 7th-8th, 9th, and 10th Grade respectively, if you have any tips or suggestions on what I should do next to further my resume or if i should drop some clubs or invest in others? I am interested in Science Research and Engineering the Most. 📖

For Scioly, I would recommend just full-on grinding on your events. For me, I started on C team then went up to B team. Honestly, the only way I got there was just spending every free time I had on Scioly. For example, for my Anatomy & Physiology (A&P) event, I would watch youtube videos meant for medical students, notes from scioly wiki, and practice tests. If you truly want to make it to A team or at least attend Scioly, I hope this helps!

People are so good (No am not crying!!)
Hello everyone, Something happened to me today and it just melted my heart. I don't cry usually but the little things just make me emotional. I e-mailed a bunch of professors and tbh I was not expecting a reply because it's cold emailing, right? I just casually checked my email and there was a response, I was like okay let's read a rejection letter and yeah, the professor was busy so she couldn't accept me to her lab but no sooner had I scrolled I saw that she has shared the email to 2 more professors whose research align with mine. It might be a really small thing for her or most of the people but literally there were tears in my eyes. I don't know either I am at my vulnerable state where little things can upset me or make my day Or I genuinely felt a warm vibe, there was something really positive. It is 3:42 in the morning and I am just sitting in front of screen feeling really happy. I am pretty sure that I am not gonna get any research position because probably I am late but it's okay. You would think of me as someone dumb for being emotional on such a little thing, but it meant a lot to me. So yeah, thanks for reading Have a nice day!

The power of cold emailing
Anyone in Boarding School?
Hi y’all! I’m attending this boarding school in the US which is great! However, due to the school’s strict rules to keep students safe, it limits me from doing any science fairs like ISEF where I would present my research from the regional level to (hopefully) international. Anyways, I have found some competitions that work for my circumstances, but should I still try and compete for science fairs like ISEF? For any boarding schoolers, how do you manage activities that are outside school while following your school’s rules?

@Dharaa Suresha Really! So, do you live in the same state as your school? (Sorry, I’m assuming that you’re American.)
