What the Ikigai is going on?
Ikigai is a Japanese concept that means "reason for being" or "purpose in life." It’s a framework that helps individuals find fulfillment by identifying the sweet spot between what they love, what they are good at, what the world needs, and what they can be paid for. I’ve been searching for my Ikigai, and throughout this process things continue to evolve. How can the concept of Ikigai help you grow in your career? Here’s a breakdown of the four key elements: 1. What you love (Passion): The activities or pursuits that bring you joy and make you feel alive. 2. What you are good at (Skills): The talents or abilities that you excel in and enjoy honing. 3. What the world needs (Mission): The problems you can solve or the contributions you can make to the world. 4. What you can be paid for (Profession): The skills or services that others value enough to compensate you for. Has anybody ever heard of, or used this concept before? Roger

I used this in my coaching referring to finding your sweetspot. I've discovered my most productive and impactful work came from intentionally focusing my time, energy and skills on what brings me the most joy. When I've strayed into areas that were interesting and even exciting but outside my sweetspot my efforts often were wasted.
The #1 Thing to Get You Promoted at any LEVEL
Team, I was on a call yesterday, and somebody asked me my #1 advice for getting promoted quickly. My answer often changes depending on the circumstance, but this ONE thing will work in every situation, and every level. The answer - be solutions oriented. Check out this quick Loom video I created where I explain more. What do you think? (Comment below) Am I wrong, do you think there is something more important? Reminder: Be on the lookout for a coaching call invite, the calendar has been filling up and I love spending time with you learning about your challenges and helping you break through them.

I agree with being solution oriented adds value and gets you noticed as a positive team player. I would add being humble to be an encouraging influence on the rest of the team. This will also demonstrate one's leadership potential.
LinkedIn and Building a Personal Brand
Thank you so much for the feedback regarding the career accelerator course. The first module will drop next week, but I have one more question. Do you think it’s valuable to have a module on how to use LinkedIn to build your personal brand? There are many courses already out here on this topic, so I didn’t think to include it here, but perhaps that was an oversight. Do you have any thoughts on this? Roger

I've taken a few courses on LinkedIn personal branding and certainly would be a great incentive for anyone considering your course.
Weekly Reflection
How did your week go? Did you achieve your goals or just go through the motions? If you cannot answer the questions above directly, then you haven’t developed a system to master your week. 6 days ago, I ask the following - see post Successful people develop systems to achieve more in less time. The simple act of clearly identifying priorities, putting a plan in place (usually the when), executing as planned and then reflecting on the plan is one of the most powerful systems to form. Sometimes the simple things are the hardest. Is this something you would like to learn, or do you already have this in place consistently? Thanks for creating this community. Looking forward to meeting everyone and getting involved. I come to this group to learn and share from my 5 decades of leadership in multiple industries. I finally retired from full-time work January 2023 but I didn't retire from learning, supporting and coaching. I finally incorporated my side hustle in late 2022 - Crystal Clear Consulting and Coaching providing business consulting supporting for profit and non-profit organizations. I also provide online and in-person leadership training. I'm a proud father of 3 adults children and Papa to 6 grandchildren. Talk soon!
