1๏ธโƒฃ Purpose of the Drill โ€ข The white line drill helps hitters create space and maintain direction through the middle of the field. It emphasizes proper body positioning to maximize barrel direction and contact efficiency. 2๏ธโƒฃ Setup โ€ข Place the tee on the inner third of the plate to black/edge of the plate. โ€ข Position yourself close to the white line. 3๏ธโƒฃ Creating Space โ€ข As you stride out, focus on creating enough space for your hands, arms, and barrel to work. Butt back & chest down. โ€ข Proper space allows you to attack the inside part of the ball effectively, promoting true ball flight and staying up the middle. 4๏ธโƒฃ Key Body Positions โ€ข Get your butt back: Maintain a slight hip hinge to preserve space. โ€ข Chest down: Keep your torso engaged and balanced over your center of mass. 5๏ธโƒฃ Objective โ€ข The goal is to maintain space and work the inside half of the ball, avoiding a โ€œpushโ€ or โ€œpullโ€ swing that sacrifices direction and barrel accuracy. โ€ข Aim for true ball flight to through the big part of the field. ๐Ÿšซ Common Mistake โ€ข Early hip extension (hips pushing forward too soon) can cause your hands to drift out. โ€ข This often results in a โ€œcast-outโ€ barrel path, leading to weak contact, such as ground balls to the pull side. โ€ข Frontside flying off too early. โ€ข Rollovers & top-spin. โ€ข Flares to the opposite field. https://youtube.com/shorts/f6MZyg-ESMs?feature=shared

Hereโ€™s a simpler breakdown: 1๏ธโƒฃ Engages Glutes and Hips Pushing your feet outward against the band activates the glutes and hip muscles, helping you stay strong and balanced throughout the swing. 2๏ธโƒฃ Improves Ground Connection Keeping tension in the band teaches you how to stay connected to the ground, which is important for generating power and staying stable as you swing. 3๏ธโƒฃ Builds Strength in Key Areas The band works muscles in the back of your legs (hamstrings and glutes) to help you stay in control, especially when holding your finish. 4๏ธโƒฃ Teaches Tension and Balance If the band goes slack, itโ€™s a sign youโ€™ve lost proper form.
