🚫 Keeping Our Skool Spaces Spam-Free & Respectful 🚫
Hey Skool friends! 👋 I just wanted to drop in with a quick reminder about keeping our community standards high and our DMs clear of unwelcome messages. Recently, I received a random message from someone I’d never interacted with, pitching a dropshipping business. I get that people are out there hustling, and hey, respect for that! But cold DMs with sales pitches? Not for me at all. One of the many things I love about Skool is the strong sense of community and respect we all uphold here. Unlike some other platforms, Skool encourages us to genuinely connect, share value, and support each other’s growth without feeling like we’re walking through a marketplace of unsolicited pitches. So, let’s talk about how we can keep this space helpful, respectful, and free of spam: Here are a few tips I’ve found helpful for anyone running a Skool community: 1. Set Clear Group Guidelines: Be upfront in your group description or a pinned post about the norms for engaging within the community. Mention that direct sales pitches or unsolicited messages aren’t the vibe here. 2. Educate Members on Engagement Etiquette: Encourage members to reach out through genuine interactions within the community before moving to private messages. Remind them that authentic connections lead to real opportunities, not quick sales. 3. Lead by Example: How we engage sets the tone! When we interact thoughtfully and take the time to really understand each other’s goals, we inspire others to do the same. I’m curious, what are your thoughts on cold messaging here in Skool? Have you had experiences with it, and how did you handle it? Would love to hear your perspectives!
