Remarkable (2)
Has anyone used Remarkable (2) before? Is it worth the price? I struggle to see it's full value and every-day usage. What are your thoughts?

@Davide Marchisio How is the writing experience on an iPad? My bosses have Remarkables and love them. I’m still on pen and paper, but haven’t settled on a Remarkable vs iPad. I’m afraid to go iPad then wind up using pen and paper again because it’s not as easy.
The Little Things
I like to capture the "delightful" touches in products, but usually they're in a folder somewhere that I'll come across only once in a while. I'm thinking I'm not the only one in this group, so I'm offering this thread as a repository for the little delights in products that may not be big enough for their own post. I'll start... This chatbot message caught my eye as something I may like to incorporate for my facilitation business. With the addition of the name, "we're away right now" explanation, and link to schedule a meeting, it feels like a personal invitation to connect, rather than being offloaded to a chatbot.

YouTube now automatically rolls through the comments. It makes it feel like a live video. It’s a little distracting, but the community feel is genius. (Also, the video I’m watching there is fun. I recommended it. 🙂)
Product Bets - Round 1 🥊
What's up everyone, was chatting with @Amr Khalifeh this morning about Product Intuition and he came up with a great idea for the community. So let me introduce you to... Product Bets! What's Product Bets? Every few months I'll start a thread where we can all share our bets on some of the more buzzy products that have made their way into the world. In the thread we'll share where we think they'll be in six months time. Then, in six months we'll hop on a call (it's already in the calendar!) and review how we all did! Why? Because we're all cast judgement on products, telling others how we think things'll play out, and this is an opportunity to reflect on if you were right or not! I think this is a great opportunity to see how well tuned our Intuition for space really is, and to improve it again in the future. This round's products will be: - The Rabbit R1 - Apple's Vision Pro - ONCE - Campfire I'll get us started 👇 _____ Rabbit R1: I think the Rabbit R1 will have a strong niche group of enthusiasts, and there'll be a lot of cool use cases for the little device, the over-riding sentiment will still be 'why isn't this an app?'. There's a good chance that Google will release a competitor that does everything the R1 does but is native to Android, and I wouldn't be surprised if they've been acquired by a large tech company six months from now. Apple Vision Pro: I think in six months time, it'll be way too soon to see if the Vision Pro has got any broad market appeal. It's going to continue being heavily meme'd on, as it rolls out in Europe, skepticism will reach a fever pitch and we'll see plenty of people calling the Vision Pro a failure. By this time we'll have seen at least a couple of really compelling use-cases for the technology, but most people still won't have had the chance to try it yet. ONCE - Campfire: Six months from now I think we'll have a clearer picture on if this is actually an applicable solution for product companies. We'll have a solid understanding of the economics and practicalities of rolling this service out. Because it's 37signals it'll probably have a small but highly enthusiastic group of users.

@Cat Licavoli haha, kindred spirit ❤️❤️ I’m still the nerd in my friend group. Anyone else talk about the ROI on Christmas decorations this past holiday? At least I’m not alone, my husband elicits his own teases when he mentions risk rank charts for everything. 🤓🤓

@Cat Licavoli That makes sense to me 🤷‍♀️ Fun video. :) “True augmented reality is the technology that gets me most excited.” Same here!

@David Finnegan Oh, no. I’m not one to collect things but that cup might change things x)
How's your product intuition?
Ever look at a product and feel immediately underwhelmed? You know when you get the sense that something just isn’t going to work from the get go? Of course the opposite is true too, where you hear an idea, download and app, or find a physical product you’re immediately sure it's going to work too. I’ve been thinking a lot about intuition this week, and what the component parts of ‘product intuition’ might be. For me I think the starting point is the offer (what is it, who’s it for), the experience, and the business model - if any of those feel out of whack, then I’m immediately skeptical, but what do ya’ll think? What triggers your spidey sense for products?

On my initial evaluation of a product, I'm looking for one of 2 things: [1] the product is solving a true gap (a unique solution to a wide-spread problem), and/or [2] it's differentiators are clear (cheaper, less steps, much better experience). I'm not sure if I'd have good intuition, but I do know that if I don't understand the product to be clear on at least one of those two things, I'd be pretty skeptical.

@David Finnegan Yes, cheaper through something other than just smaller margins for sure. Especially in this context, we’re looking for the potential to thrive, not just survive.
