Remarkable (2)
Has anyone used Remarkable (2) before? Is it worth the price? I struggle to see it's full value and every-day usage. What are your thoughts?

User Research service without users - just AI
I came across this: https://www.syntheticusers.com "Test your idea or product with AI participants and take decisions with confidence." End-to-end AI user research. No scheduling, no interviewing, no synthesising… And NO people. I haven't tried this myself, and I don't want to unfairly dismiss it. But I can't help but think that if this is appealing to you, why not just scrap user research entirely if you can't be bothered to talk to real people, instead of going through the motions of simulating it. I am sure AI can make user research much more efficient and reduce the amount of administrative tasks, help with analysis, scheduling, etc., but I think this is just dumb and a step in the wrong direction.

This sounds like we're getting even closer to we-don't-need-research mentality. I just wonder how the AI will be able to say anything for a real human. It can guess, but that's also what we do. I'd say if you're creating a digital product whose user is AI, then great! Otherwise, a big no from me, although I'll try just to see how it works.
Speaking of Figma…
… the Adobe / Figma merger isn't happening anymore. https://www.figma.com/de/blog/figma-adobe-abandon-proposed-merger/ I, honestly, didn't care either way. I know a lot of people dislike Adobe, but I have always loved their products. I think they are unmatched when it comes to photo and vector editing. I think this might be bad news for Sketch, I know they were trying to lure users that dislike Adobe, or find CC too expensive, from Figma to their product.

It doesn't matter for me either. I agree on that. Adobe could have thought a lot from Figma. I've been using Adobe products for more than a decade and boy could they be better, especially in the domain of flexibile collaboration. In InDesign, just for example, it was always a pain to gather feedback - export the PDF, get comments in another PDF back, search and implement... Anyhow, Adobe shifted their strategy to generative AI, so collaboration and flexibility is not a heavy interest anymore.
Figma moving into physical products lol?!
Just saw this thing announced on Linkedin. Cool video: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/figma_cmd-g-ctrl-g-your-shortcuts-introducing-activity-7140344800485990400-htX3?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop Store page: https://store.figma.com/products/figma-creator-micro-keyboard As an owner of an Elgato Stream Deck for triggering macros etc. I'm not sure I see the point though unless this thing can be used for more software than just Figma. Very interesting that the product page has like zero specs, I get that it's a preorder page but come one, what am I really pre-ordering here? What's your take on this?

I don't know. I am skeptical about it. It seems to me like it's more cool than useful. It's something like Microsoft's Surface Dial for Surface Studios. I've had one but never used it. This comes at a stage where most people just learned the keyboard shortcuts. I use keyboard shortcuts a lot and I'm so used to them that I don't find it attractive to "hire" an additional keyboard. Some things are just hard to beat, like for example QWERTY/Z keypad layout. We'll see. They are counting on early adopters right now and are probably experimenting.
Design Thinking & Innovation Metrics
The other day there was a discussion about IDEO's layoffs and the design thinking being dead. For those where design thinking "did not work" probably a part of the problem lies in not measuring the results and not iterating based on them. A couple of days ago, I finally received this book about design thinking and innovation metrics, and it seems interesting and relevant to this topic. Has someone already read it? What are the impressions?
