time limit on recovery of funds?
Is there a time limit from when a fund can be paid? or will it always be there to collect? and also its said to typically take 180 days to be able to have the funds available. what am i to say to the owner if funds are available but it just sold ?

Depends where you're located it can be a year up to two years in some states. Some can take as soon as 30-45 days others if there's heirs will take a bit longer or if there's also liens against the property.
