New Artist launch: NOOMOON advice
I am helping to support this new, contemporary singer/songwriter and deciding where is the best place to focus time and money. The main goal is to build a fanbase that is willing to support the artist and keep them engaged in a "love loop". There is a process for the fan journey from discovery- curious listener-supportive fan. The work has been done to create the music, now the question is how to promote (playlists, ads, social media, airplay, etc) and get people to follow, sign up to mailing lists, buy merch and come to shows. All advice is welcome! Thanks to the community! Here is the latest releases: https://open.spotify.com/album/4NNBXPb7epsFSTf7MbwThO?si=NhelBtMSQrSKgZpKWrL4XA

DEAL NEGOTIATIONS
Howโ€™s it going yโ€™all Iโ€™m happy to be in this group. I currently manage a artist and Iโ€™m at the stage where all labels have hit us up and now we have a label we MIGHT sign to. As negotiations are going back fourth with my lawyer and label I canโ€™t help but just set back and think. We already have a good fan base and really I just want more tools to have access to untapped audiences. Weโ€™re currently at 50k a week streams and every snippet we post on ig gets good traction and interactions. I just hate sitting here waiting so my question is other then keep posting content and making more music do you have any marketing advice

Signing to a label is always a tough decision. It seems like you have already done a lot of the right things and put in the hard work. You have proven that the music is reaching people. If you have not already signed, here are a couple of ideas you can try to grow your audience on your own. You probably already have tried them: 1. Collaborations: Too many artist are so protective of their content they refuse to work with others. If you collaborate with other artists, both of you can benefit from sharing your fan base. Everyone is trying to grow their audience and fans. You are bringing a lot to the table. 2. Co-writing songs with other well known writers and producers would also give you access to more fans and industry professionals. You may be surprised on how approachable some industry folks are now that your artist has a proven track record. 3. Playing live shows and festivals strategically focused on your type of audience is another great way to grow your fan base 4. Try to get your artist's music licensed for movies, TV, commercials, video games, and other venues that will play snippets over and over again reaching larger crowds. If you can get a brand deal, it will generate more money and grow your fanbase 5. The folks hear at NLN are full of proven methods. That's why we are all here!
Need any help with your music career at the moment?
Hey everyone, we're planning our content for YouTube video, podcasts and community in the coming months. 1. Is there anything you are especially curious to learn about or understand more deeply this year? 2. Is there anything in particular you need help with at the moment?

Engagement would be a good topic to cover. Too many people count views and streams, when engagement is a more reliable metric.
Who can explain what a pre-save is & why it matters?
Hey y'all, I'm going through the content strategies and was waiting for the answer to this question. It was never explicitly mentioned, so I thought I'd ask it here, (just in case anyone else had this question): what are pre-saves? why do they matter? what is the benefit of getting people to pre-save the music? Is it just another way to keep your art on people's radar? Or does it have more value than that? For me, understanding what things are and why they matter contextualizes the advice we're getting. I believe there is a good answer for this, and I'm not anti-pre-save (again, I have no idea what they really do or why they matter, so I'm neutral). I'm looking forward to reading your responses. Cheers. Z

Pre-saves on Spotify happen during the promotion period before a new release when an artist is teasing their upcoming music. When a fan presaves your music, it ensures your track is added to your fan's Spotify library the moment that track is released. The benefit is that it gives a boost to the new release and should help Spotify algorithm notice the attention and possibly push the music a little further. These tend to be a little difficult to do with newer independent artists and even established artists unless they have already developed an extremely loyal fan base. There are strategies for offering incentives to your fans like merch, tickets, or other things to get them to pre-save. Hope that helps! Hopefully others will comment on their experience with presaves
