12 Footwork Drills For Beginners
I am so sorry for the absence the past couple of weeks fam. Here is a quick summary of what your boy has been up to the past two weeks. My partner and I are expecting our first child, so been running back and forth haha We've also recently bought a new home, which we have finally settled into. I don't know about you guys, but I hate moving more than training legs haha My office is all set up now, and we are back on! To express how sorry I am for going "where's Wally" on you guys. Here is a video of the Fundamentals Class we ran with our members. We focused on drills that help their footwork and explained why and when to use them. We are big believers in teaching "Why" & "When"... It helps members understand the "How" much easier. Please note. These drills are in sequential order. So, if you are going to use them for your class or your clients, try keeping them in the order they were recorded. It's a progressional sessionā€”teaching skills in bite-size drills. At the end of the video, we tie it all together with a reactive drill. Enjoy!

@Kwame Orisa Thank you my brother haha Been a hurricane of madness already and she's not even here yet haha Can not wait! But yes, to be honest, 70% of all our fundametnal classes are based around footwork!
My youth class
Here we are just working a warm up drill. We are opening up a senior class this weekend what are some things you would add into the structure of an adults session! The aim for us is to ideally get some adults interested in fighting so basics would be something we throw in! However there are the other 70 percent of the seniors who just want fitness based classes.

Hey, thanks for sharing the video! Is that your youth program in action? Looks solid! When it comes to structuring adult sessions, it really depends on the group you're working with and their goals. For example, we recently had a football team in and focused about 30% on fundamentals and the other 70% on bag work and conditioning drillsā€”they loved it! Weā€™ve also worked with corporate groups, and for them, we split it into 30% fundamentals, 30% partner drills, and 40% bag work with some fun conditioning to wrap it up. Itā€™s great for team building and camaraderie. Since your goal is to spark some interest in fighting while still catering to the majority who want fitness, Iā€™d keep it dynamicā€”maybe start with the basics for those keen on the technique side, then shift gears into fun conditioning drills to keep everyone engaged. Hope that makes sense?
