Yet another reason why Landlords may decide to sell up!
I have just been reading a report on Property118 that is highlighting an interview in the i that the Housing Minister has just done. In this he is suggesting that Landlords will not be able to discriminate against someone who is pregnant and wants a Tenancy with you! The fine will be £7000 for the first time and £40,000 for subsequent breaches. You will not find this in the RRB by all accounts either! I really dont understand why MP's keep finding reasons for Landlords to say enough is enough and sell up when they have no homes for these unfortunate homeless Tenants to move into! If as the news was predicting last night the Government are also going to allow 62,000 asylum seekers on the investigation list to stay to reduce the back log where will everyone get housed? Also will they be above British people on a Council waiting list? All I can say to Landlords at present is "be thankful you own your own house"! Thanks for sharing. Even if I try to stay neutral it blows my mind. Like their mantra is helping the working person and clearly none working people (!) If they gave back to landlords- like social benefits tenants couldn't just stop their UC direct payments even after it was approved!! Or that the undesirables feel they gave a free reign. It's like the government act like parents to delinquent children. The parents want to help their children, but when the children look like they may throw a tantrum the parents give in. And to the success children, we are told to accept it. Like we need to sympathise with our delinquent siblings and it's not their fault. This in turn unintentionally just enables the delinquent and undesirables to continue their behaviours as they feel they can get away with it / little consequences. So maybe it will get worse then it will have to get better!!
