Turning EVERYTHING Into Fuel: A Lesson from Michael Phelps 🐐
Picture this: Michael Phelps, already a swimming superstar, is at a dinner... Some random swim mom tells him he has NO chance of winning the 100m butterfly at the Olympics. Ouch, right? But guess what? Phelps used that doubt to FIRE HIM UP. He won gold, beating his teammate who was the world record holder! 🥇 This is what's called the "Everything is Motivation" mindset. It means taking ALL your experiences – good or bad – and using them to get better. Think about it: - Bad practice? Use it to push harder tomorrow. - Someone trash-talking you? Use it to crush them in the pool. 😈 - Disappointing race? Use it to learn from your mistakes. Phelps even used that swim mom's negativity to fuel his Olympic win! "Remember how [that swim mom] told me I could never win the 100m butterfly? Well, what’s up now?" - Michael Phelps Here's the deal: Waiting to "feel" motivated is a trap. Motivation is a CHOICE. You can choose to use EVERYTHING as fuel to reach your goals. What SPECIFICALLY do you do to choose motivation every day? Can you share what works for you? Let's chat about it in the comments! 👇

It is important what kids get told cause they can believe anything they listen about themselves, it is only a few years later when they become adults that discover that things they listened when kids were not actually true. So it is important also to reinforce them with positive comments so they also can develop their own self esteem.
Introduce yourself :)
Welcome, welcome to the community 👋 🏊 I promise you that I'll teach you exactly how the sports psychologist of Michael Phelps (Dr. Jim Bauman) helped me overcome my pre-race anxiety and turned me from an OK-ish swimmer into an Olympian and Swiss record holder in less than 1 year. But first... Pls, introduce yourself :) Let's goooooo! 🚀 P.S. Vote on your swimming dream. How big can you dream?

Hello my name is Fer, I am really interested about the mental aspect of any sport at competition level. I really think that mental game and pressure and anxiety control makes the difference in any competition and it will also help you to excel in other fields in life. So it is a tool that is essential to have and learn but nobody teachs you (even less in schools) how to have that under control. So thats the reason I am here

@David Karasek I think one of the factors that make tennis players mentally tough is that the game of tennis is emotionally very demanding in competitive tennis and if you dont know how to handle it, it can be draining. It can have so many ups and downs in one hour and nothing is solved till the last point, also pretty much a tight match is defined in 3-4 important points and if you are too nervous, or you take bad decisions in that 3-4 points you end up loosing the match even if you have been doing a good job the rest of the match. Also the fact that a tennis match theoretically has no ending , it can last 1 hour or 5 or more hours and you need to be prepared for that uncertainty physically and also in your head.
