'That Was Easy'
Woke up this morning experiencing a higher level of pain, and then my brain started telling me all sorts of nasty things and I was feeling utterly crummy and weepy and all sorts of emotions. I was going to sit here and muscle my way through by creating a list of prizing statements to try and make myself feel better and gather dopamine hits from the likes and support. But then... I decided to do some searching in the classroom. I watched "The Feelings about Feelings". Huh. Okay. So I'm feeling this. Huh. Okay. My body is feeling this too. Just soar up to eagle level and notice. The feelings aren't gone - but I feel lighter. The knees still burn, the eyes still feel like leaking, but my shoulders don't feel as heavy. There isn't as much ice in my sternum. Thank you for the tools. I appreciate that I have access to them. My inner knowing told me to walk through the 4 step prizing about this. So I'm experiencing a contraction cycle. This is a big deal, because in the past I would swirl down and down and down into a deep dark vortex that wasn't good for me or anyone around me. What this makes possible now is the opportunity to practice self care, self acceptance, and a lack of judgement about my feelings. I'm the kind of woman who notices her emotions, and takes action by seeking guidance and applying tools and advice to improve her state of being. I'm the kind of woman who is open to learning. I'm the kind of woman who actually applies what she learns. I'm the kind of woman who is learning not to judge her feeling and accidentally cement them in. I'm the kind of woman who looks for solutions. I'm the kind of woman who notices the fall colours. I'm the kind of woman who notices how soft her cat is. I'm the kind of woman who stops and feels the support of the chair under her, the hugs from her partner, the warmth of the words from her children. I'm the kind of woman who has a whole circle of support. I'm the kind of woman who will be okay, because anything is possible and miracles happen everyday.
