Weekly QA
Ok guys one change that’s coming is that I will be doing a weekly lesson! Feel free to join, ask me questions, or just check out the lesson I will prepare for that week. I will use my discord to go live in my 40 person classroom, invite friends ! Right now the group is free for my founding members but it will close soon so invite them sooner than later ! Let me know what you’d like the first lesson to be on, I’m open to suggestions. My first lesson is usually either “AB and C students”, or “Intro to Rule of Three”

One nagging wonder right now is. If southpaw is a counterpunchers game, what is conventional? The recent Jon BONES Jones fight made me start to wonder this again. With a southpaw match up being better suited for the right hand, open side kicks, lead hand/high hand play. It makes me wonder about what guidelines there are for conventional.
understanding Head Movement
Here is an exclusive I put out for my client. This breaks down my concept of head movement, it is more than simply moving side to side and going under. The different space you have create amazing positions, and the way you can change head slots varies. Review this and understand

Ah! I’ve been tinkering with back and forth movement. Interested in how you would break it down. I have a default forward on my lead side and a back to n my rear side movements. Where my neutral slips happen in the moment when sparring. Gotta get some better drill reps in I see. the box is intuitive, since the front and back planes end up creating a cube of positions.
Tournament
Huge weekend! Tomorrow I will compete in my first Kyokushin tournament, it’s full contact, bare knuckle, continental Kyokushin Karate. This will be interesting.. I can hit with everything except for fist to face, and elbows. Knees and kicks everywhere is ok, I will learn a lot competing internationally tomorrow. Here is a pic with Kyokushin legend Kenji Midori. I can’t wait to share the evolution of my knowledge with you all.

After watching 10+ times lol - Most of the fight is in a 3 beat. It for sure is after Ali lands the second big rear hand. - Ali leading tempo, begins to go step left repeatedly. With something happening from either Ali or Liston in the third step. I’d have to watch some more but I get the feeling both have a sense of the rhythm, but Ali having the better sense. As we see with the second big right hand landed by Ali, where he takes advantage of the third beat while Liston isn’t ready. - You can pick up on Sonny’s pattern in threes too. Jab-jab body- cross body was repeated a couple times. - Before the knock out the three was Ali feints his head right, Liston feints his left, then what it looks like is Ali feints left setting up Liston to try and track his head with a jab. Setting up the pull counter. This step forward jab was being baited and repeated through the round. - Amazing that the knockout came from the very first exchange/technique of the round. - It was interesting to see Liston needing to chase, for someone to engage with him to get his offense off.
Projects
Got a few coming up! Doing a film study on Ali and Mayweather now. Naoya Inoue rule of three study is next, and then the specific reason why Frazier beat Ali. What do you guys think of these studies? I’ll be adding to my rule of three classroom as well

I didn’t have enough filmstudy to answer the recent question on who is better, Ali or Mayweather. Especially excited to see your take on it. Inoue and classic fights are also cool to get into. Does inoue abide by the knock knock principle?
