Find Your People (Part 1)
Before signing up for Skool, I didnโ€™t know any of these people. Now, theyโ€™re some of my closest friends. Who have you found on Skool?

First Dollar (+ 101)! โœจ
I made my first $1 with my community yesterday. Steps I took: 1. Flipped my free community to paid. 2. Enabled the 7-day trial. 3. Allowed annual payments. 4. Ran some Meta Ads. 5. Immediately setup a call with the member. The person just went ahead and chose annual, so I made $102. I couldnโ€™t believe my eyes. Beliefs broken for me: 1. I canโ€™t make money on here. 2. No one cares about what I know. 3. No one will buy annual. 4. A trial member will just lurk and then churn. Anyway, Iโ€™m pretty excited. Iโ€™ve been on Skool for a while but just not โ€œtaking actionโ€ as many say. Iโ€™ll update this post as things develop.

How to Build a Skool Community That Lasts Without Shortcuts
If you think ads are the secret to building a thriving Skool community, youโ€™re missing the point. Shortcuts donโ€™t build empires. Mastering the fundamentals does. Remember Pinocchio? He thought taking the easy route would turn him into something real. It didnโ€™t. It was integrity, effort, and doing the right thing that made him a โ€œreal boy.โ€ The same goes for your Skool community. Your Skool needs to be built on authenticity and real value if you want it to last. After working with countless communities, Iโ€™ve found that real success comes down to five things: Offer. About page. Ads. Fulfillment. Retention. Thatโ€™s it. Nail these, and youโ€™ll build something that lasts. Letโ€™s break it down. OFFER Get obsessed with your offer. You donโ€™t need perfection to run ads, but you do need something that hooks people. Launch ads early, even with a rough draft of your offer. Spend a few hundred bucks, get real customers, and refine based on their feedback. Quick iterations win. Have real conversations. Let your offer evolve. FULFILLMENT What do people actually get when they join? Maybe itโ€™s a course, or a monthly call. You have to think about scale. If you promise one-on-one calls to every member, how long until that breaks? Can you handle 30 calls? What about 100 members? You need to think ahead, or youโ€™ll hit a wall. ABOUT PAGE Your about page is your storefront. If youโ€™re driving traffic but not converting, itโ€™s one of two things The ads or the about page. Dial in your about page. Spend days refining it. VSL, images, copy. It all needs to hit hard. Itโ€™s not just about getting eyeballs. You need something substantial behind the door, or youโ€™ll burn through ad dollars for nothing. (It's ok to run some traffic to an unoptimized about page to get early customer feedback to build your offer.) RETENTION Retention makes or breaks you. You can have the best offer, the slickest ads, but if people bail after one month, youโ€™ve got a major issue. You're just a hustle.

How to Build a Skool Community That Lasts Without Shortcuts

@Paul Exner i agree with you actually. A lot of get rich quickers have flocked to skool because you literally can make a lot of money fast. I and many other focus on building sustainable businesses so its not the only way. Value is the ultimate currency in my opinion. More so than tactics to get people in the door.

@Paul Exner we decided to offer free trials recently because we know there is high value in our group and people will stay if hey can experience the value. Making people pay before they understand how much is in our group isnโ€™t the best option for our customers. Everyone has to assess their own situation but getting members the most results possible should be the obsession.
Best way to optimise Ads for skool?!
Iโ€™m just starting Meta Ads to bring more members to my skool communityโ€ฆ Iโ€™m wondering what Ad methods have worked best for everyone else?

I'd stick with ABOs all day for your ad sets. CBO is not performing better for almost all accounts we're looking at right now. Run ads to cold and a retargeting campaign setup with your skool page viewers. Test lots of image creatives. We see images are almost always cheaper. Write long primary text as that helps facebook find your audience. Compare your costs to acquire customers with others in your niche.
