Studio Superstars: Day 16 | How to Network
Create meaningful connections in your industry by focusing on making friends, being genuinely interested in others, and being helpful. Lesson Overview: • Understand that networking is about building relationships, not just finding work. • Learn how to make a lasting impression by being social, helpful, and interested in others. • Explore the benefits of in-person networking and the impact of building genuine connections. Lesson Content: 1. Shift Your Networking Mindset: • Concept: The key to effective networking is to approach it with the mindset of making friends and being genuinely interested in others. While your goal might be to find work, your focus should be on building relationships. • Exercise: Reflect on past networking experiences. How can you shift your approach to focus more on building friendships and less on selling yourself? • Reflection: How does changing your mindset to making friends impact the way you approach networking opportunities? 2. The Power of Being Known: • Concept: A mentor once told me, “It’s not about who you know. It’s about who knows you.” The goal is to develop a network of people who think of you when opportunities arise. • Exercise: Consider how you can increase your visibility within your network. What steps can you take to ensure that people remember you and bring you up in conversations? • Reflection: How can being more social and engaged help others remember you when opportunities come up? 3. Being Social, Helpful, and Interested: • Concept: The best way to network is to be as social, helpful, and interested as possible. Engage with others by asking questions, providing thorough answers, and offering encouragement and feedback. • Exercise: Identify one online community or in-person event where you feel comfortable engaging with others. Commit to actively participating by asking questions, sharing your knowledge, and supporting others. • Reflection: How does being genuinely helpful and interested in others change the dynamics of your networking efforts?

Damn it great to have like a meet up! Depending on where everyone was at. If not maybe a cool zoom meeting?
Video game music
Hey game devs. I recently scored an animated film based in a video game world. The director and producer wanted a retro chip tune, so I had a lot of fun using a ton of old console samples. You can check out my other works on my website below, please feel free to reach out :) https://www.danielteodoro.net/

Welcome to the Reality Hacker Family! (🔥START HERE)
What’s up friends! On behalf of Mike and myself I want to thank you so much for joining us, and welcome you to the Reality Hacker family. This group is for the game dev that’s tired of: - Feeling alone in their journey - Feeling like making money from their craft is a pipe dream - Feeling overwhelmed with the idea of actually running a business. If you feel called to respect your art form and treat it like the career pursuit you dream of it being, you’ve found the right group! Mike and I built Reality Hacker Game Studios to be a resource for solo devs and indie teams, and give them access to business and entrepreneurship education that isn’t confusing or overwhelming. As we grow, this community is going to get flooded with content based around business, growing an audience, marketing, and sales all specifically tailored to the challenges you face as a game dev. Not only will we show you the theoretical knowledge we’ve picked up over years of building businesses and coaching entrepreneurs, but we are going to take the journey along with you as we build and launch our own games. As you accomplish goals with us, we encourage you to share your stories, lessons, and achievements so we can all learn together. The platform actually encourages it! By getting likes and comments from your fellow members, you’ll earn XP and level up, which will earn you access to more courses and resources. These courses can be found in the classroom section and will constantly be updated with new material! We’re so excited to have you and can’t wait to hear how you take your passions and turn them into a viable career for yourselves and your families. Get your points started by introducing yourself in the comments below!! Tell us what you do and what your goals are so we can help you get there! Let’s do this!!!!
