Who got their first client in the past few months?
I would like to see if anyone here has gained their first client in the past few months. I am planning on reaching out to businesses in the HVAC industry and have compiled a list of about 50 businesses in the area that have anywhere from 5-50 reviews on Google, but have 0-100 in monthly traffic. I've scoped all the sites and they have anything from no H1s to as much as five H1s, and several other things, but mostly very few pages indexed. Let me give you my background and my experience on my current business. I am a solo musician/guitarist/singer AND a DJ. I've done hundreds of gigs, especially with wedding couples. When I do a wedding couple, they've already found ME. I'm sure that's helpful, but then I ask them a lot of questions about how they met, how long they've known each other, etc. Then, I go into their preferences on their music choices, and then go into logistics of the wedding. When I approach SEO clients, unless I have my site drawing in clients, it will be like a cold call. How can I first approach them to get a phone/video call by email, or possibly by phone, in order to assure them that I just want to know what they want for their business? Sorry it's long, but I 'm just thinking of the best approach for this. I don't mind trying to reach out to a lot of clients, but I also don't want to waste my time if I'm not setting up the calls right. Thanks!

The hard truth no one here is telling you is that you're wasting valuable time. It seems like you're putting in a lot of effort, but you're not reaching out or making connections with potential customers. It sounds like you're stuck in analysis paralysis. The only way you're going to move forward is by: 1. Contacting businessesโ€“ Start making cold calls. Remember, the point of a cold call isnโ€™t to make an immediate sale, but to identify the decision-maker and schedule a meeting. On average, it takes 5 to 7 interactions to close a sale (these interactions can include meetings, emails, texts, or calls). Cold calling might not be for you, and thatโ€™s okay. If you find that itโ€™s not your strength, then... 2. Running adsโ€“ As Caleb suggested, paid ads can be a great way to generate leads and start building momentum.
FAQ Schema for homepage.
Should I only create FAQ schema for articles that have a FAQ section, or can it also be beneficial to add FAQ schema to a homepage or landing page? For example, let's say you have a homepage for a plumbing service in Chicago. The FAQ section could include questions like, "How can I find a plumber near me?", "Why is hiring a licensed plumber important?", and "Whatโ€™s included in a service visit with Mendel Plumbing?"

Do you have the client pay the fee or should I take on the fee and pass it on to the client with some margin?

Haha, it's been a month now! I used to always contract it out, but we brought it in-house and started using @Caleb Ulku methods with great success. There's definitely a learning curve, but having real clients to work with has helped us move forward quickly and see awesome results for them.
