Outreach not working? Try this:
A lot of people ask me, โIโve tried cold emailing in the past, but it didnโt work. What can I do instead?โ The truth is, itโs not about the type of outreach you doโwhether itโs cold emailing, calling, or DMingโitโs about how you do it. If you donโt grasp the fundamentals, no outreach method will give you the success you're looking for. Let me explain the right way to approach outreach. How to Do Outreach Effectively: Lead with Value: 9 out of 10 times, successful outreach starts by offering value before pitching anything. For example, in my outreach, Iโve provided feedback on ads clients were running, or I helped them with a system issue. If I had nothing specific to offer, Iโd even give away a free month of ads to gain trust and learn from the experience. If youโre just starting, humble yourself. You need experience first. Donโt be afraid to offer something for free to build credibility. Follow Up with a Call or Meeting: Once youโve given them something of value, ask for a Zoom call or an in-person meeting to discuss things further. By the time theyโve received value from you, theyโre more likely to trust you. Thatโs when you can start talking about your services. Personalize Your Outreach: Show genuine interest in their business. Whether itโs through compliments, insights, or small gestures of value, let them know youโve taken the time to understand what they need. Alternative Outreach Methods: LinkedIn DMs: This is one of the best outreach channels, especially when automated. You'll need LinkedInโs paid subscription and software for automation, but the investment can be worth it. If you want details about the software I use, just DM me. Cold Calling: Believe it or not, cold calling is the most effective outreach strategy in many industries. I avoided cold calling for a long time, but once I got over my fear, the results were undeniable. I got my first client after only 25 cold calls. Compare that to cold emails, where it took 1,000 emails to get just 5 to 10 calls. Cold calling converts fasterโ1 in 25 vs. 1 in 200.
