Speeding Up Your Hiring Process
A common problem in recruiting is the lengthy hiring process. Long delays between interviews or making an offer can cause you to lose top talent to competitors. When reviewing the length of your hiring process, consider tracking the following metrics: 1. Time to Fill: The number of days from when the job is posted until the position is filled. This gives you a clear overview of the overall hiring timeline. 2. Time to Hire: The number of days from when a candidate applies to when they accept the offer. This focuses more on the candidate's journey through your process. 3. Time in Each Stage: Track how long candidates spend in each stage of the process (e.g., resume screening, interview rounds, background checks). Identifying bottlenecks can help you streamline these steps. 4. Offer Acceptance Rate: The percentage of candidates who accept the job offer. A lower rate may indicate delays or issues in the hiring process that are turning candidates away. 5. Interview-to-Offer Ratio: The number of interviews it takes to extend a job offer. Too many interviews might slow down the process unnecessarily. Reviewing these metrics will help you optimize your recruiting process, reduce delays, and increase candidate satisfaction.

Time to hire is crucial as well. I have seen many companies act as though time is on their side. The need is present, and the company is being impacted as well. No names being mentioned, but I have seen many times companies wait so long to eventually put the offer out to the candidates of interest that they have accepted another position. Then you either have to start over or accept the second or even third best choice. As you had said about, it is an aspect that needs taken into consideration.
Can Social Media be a Tool for Your Business?
I’ve been reaching out to the top 100 restaurants in the U.S., and one thing has really stood out to me: every single one of them has a business Instagram account. This observation doesn’t mean you are required to have one to be successful, but it’s hard to call it a coincidence when all the top players are using social media to grow their brand. Social media gives you direct access to your customers, builds awareness, and lets you showcase what makes your business unique. It’s not just about pretty pictures; it’s about connection. So, while you might be on the fence about using social media for your business, just know that the leaders in the industry are using it as a tool for success. If you're not already doing so, consider how social media can fit into your business strategy. You don’t need to post every day, but being present in the digital space can give you an edge!

That is a interesting fact.
Why Accountability is the Secret Ingredient to Success
Let’s dive into something that can make or break your progress—accountability. We all set goals, whether personal or professional, but what keeps us on track? Accountability is the secret sauce that ensures we don’t just set goals but actually achieve them. Why Accountability Matters 1. It pushes you to follow through on your commitments. 2. It keeps you focused, even when distractions pop up. 3. It helps you build trust with your team, peers, or even yourself. 4. It gives you a clearer sense of progress and areas to improve. Ways to Build Accountability 1. Publicly Declare Your Goals – Tell someone what you plan to achieve. When others know your goals, you're more likely to stay committed because now there’s an expectation. 2. Create a System of Check-ins – Whether with a colleague, a mentor, or even within this community, set regular check-ins to review progress and adjust course if needed. 3. Break Down Your Goals – Big goals can seem overwhelming. Breaking them into smaller, actionable steps makes them easier to tackle, and you can track progress regularly. Actionable Tip: This week, choose one goal you’ve been working on (or avoiding) and share it with someone. Set a check-in for a week from now to review how you’re progressing. You’ll be surprised how much more motivated you’ll feel once you're being held accountable. So, what’s one goal you're willing to be held accountable for this week? Let’s hear it! 💬

Another very similar thing, is to "take ownership".
Getting into HR
I’ll be honest—I barely even knew what HR was until I started my MBA program. Up until that point, my background was in medicine and operations, so I thought my career path was set. But during my MBA, I took a class on HR, and it completely shifted my perspective. I realized that the aspects of leadership I loved most—improving policies, employee relations, mentorship, and training—were the core focuses of HR. That class really opened my eyes to what HR is all about and helped me understand the vital role it plays in business. Understanding HR helped me not only become a better leader but also shifted my career trajectory from hospital administration to focusing more on human resources and people operations. It’s funny how one class or experience can change your entire outlook, but I’m grateful for that shift. HR has become such an important part of what I do, and it’s all about helping people and businesses grow together. For anyone not fully familiar with HR, I encourage you to dig deeper—it could end up transforming your approach to leadership like it did for me!
