10 contributions to 7-Day Breath Hold Challenge
Post Your Breath Hold (Week 45: Nov 4th - Nov 10th)
Post all your Breath Hold Times here! Let's go & double your breath hold! 🧑‍🏫 Step 1: Take an inhale, start your stopwatch & hold your breath. Step 2: Post your time here so you can get feedback and points Step 3: Head on over to the Classroom & follow the instructions Already participated last week, or last month? No worries, you can post and do it as much as you want (as a matter of fact, we'd only encourage it 😎) And if you done the challenge once (or twice), feel free to shake it up a little bit. Do exhale breath holds only for a week, or take it easy and do 1-2 breath holds a day without going for a max. Variety is the spice of life. Get to level 4 in the Leaderboards, and you unlock the Superhuman Lungs training protocol (who doesn't want to have lungs like the Human Dolphin?) Post at least 3 times before the week is over, and you may be the lucky winner of the Breath Hold Mastery course 😎 And last (but not least) a little shout out to last weeks top 10 leaderboard: @Mucchan Toshima @Curro Cachinero @Denis Blanchard @Tina Mosner @Bruce Stayne @Inese Rieta @Elliot Raboy @Abednego Moses Suryanda @Luca Pinelli @Teija Lehtinen

Was curious about the sympathetic part during WHM. Did 3 rounds monitoring. First two rounds breathhold on exhale, last one inhale. Started to breath when the first signal to breathe occurred, so no contractions or pushing to get used to the urge of breath thus different to our approach. One can see, that there is no real relaxed state of the heartrate, lowest heartrate still above 60 bpm, no real mdr kicking in. Supporting the hypothesis that hyperventilating pushes your physiology towards fight or flight instead of rest and digest?

Week 2, Day 6, late at night after dinner and alcohol with full stomach, actually useless but better than nothing: Dive 1 1:00 (inhale) Dive 2 0:37 (exhale)

Week 2, Day 7, early morning, empty stomach. 10x resistance and 3x warm up as preparation and in between the dives. Dive 1 1:00 stopped at first discomfort Dive 2 1:15 failed at 1:06 strong urge to breath Dive 3 2:09 relatively easy till 1:50, last 20 difficult to complete breathhold Dive 4 2:41 (PB 😊) Interesting observations: the dives had been all in all relatively comfortable for a long while and then all of a sudden a pretty mean urge to breath/ discomfort set in. Thus far it has been more like a ramp of slowly growing discomfort. This is completely new to me, anyone experiencing similar `problems‘? Also new: contractions. First one at 2:00 and then regularly every 5 s ish from 2:20. They haven’t been disturbing 👍🏻 In conclusion I am pretty satisfied considering the fact I have had a `lousy week‘ 😊 Thanks again lovely fellow breathholders for all the input and inspiration 🙏 May the breath be with you 😊
