Public Key Infrastructure for IoT Devices
I am excited to share with you an accomplishment that I am proud of. Recently, we developed a private Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solution for a partnership project involving our IoT devices. We designed and implemented this solution on Google Cloud, using their Certificate Authority Service. I am thrilled to share that Google has already recognized our implementation and invited me to present it at the Google Next 2024 conference in Las Vegas on April 11th. If anyone from this community is planning to attend the Google Next conference this year, I would love to meet in person and discuss this further.

Interesting. Congratulations. I’m sure the ICS/OT community would like to know how it’s done.
Librarian Pivots to Cybersecurity – Seeking Your Insights
Hi everyone! I'm Jose, and I'm making the leap from librarianship to cybersecurity. This field fascinates me – it's like a giant puzzle waiting to be solved! You might be surprised, but my library background was surprisingly tech-heavy. We mastered HTML, CSS, JavaScript, databases, and more. This led to freelance work managing sensitive data across various industries, which ignited my passion for information security. Google's Cybersecurity Certificate was my turning point. I completed the program in January, and now I'm prepping for CompTIA Security+ in May. In the meantime, I'm exploring different cybersecurity specializations through free courses. I recently discovered Nicholas Moy's YouTube channel – his practical approach really clicks with me. That's why I'm here! I'm trying out IriusRisk this weekend. My goal is to connect with experienced cybersecurity professionals. If you have advice on navigating this career change, or just want to share your own journey, please reach out! Here's my LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/joseruiz1571/

Wow, I spend a lot of time in the library Jose; I had no idea librarians did all of that. Congrats on finishing the Google certificate! When you're doing the IriusRisk training, think about how you would model a threat to the internet-facing library website. The scenario frames it against NIST 800-53 security controls. Honestly, you're already tech-savvy and going in the right direction! I think the Security + is a solid certification--good luck. I've heard good things about this training for SOC analysts. I've never worked in a SOC, but just sharing. https://elearning.securityblue.team/login

@Jose Ruiz-Vazquez and @James Hopper --This is a great breakdown by Nicholas Moy on what a security engineer is. Listen to the differences between the roles of cyber analyst and security engineer and listen to his recommendation. ☑️ I 100% agree. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4wTdAhvNsk
Security Certification....which one are you after?
I'm going down Splunk and Crowdstrike for the moment. Then will take time for Azures cloud architect equivalent.

I hope to get re-certified in AWS technology and Red Hat Linux. I wish I hadn't let the certifications expire. The CI/CD pipeline and security of CI/CD (DevSecOps) within the cloud are also on my list. The goal is fluid knowledge in these areas.
Hello everybody.
I'm from Bahrain, and I'm thrilled to join the CYBERPRO COMMUNITY. The primary obstacle I face is the how to start. I look forward to connecting with fellow members.
