Thanks! I enjoyed helping where I did and hope to continue helping elsewhere. Also looking forward to learning in the Dojo!
Passed my DP-600 exam today!
(Repost from LinkedIn) I’m happy to share that I passed the DP-600 this morning!! It's really important that everyone on here and in my network knows that I don't think I would've got through this certification without the help of @Will Needham. His knowledge, his tutorials, his Skool communities (both Learn Microsoft Fabric and Fabric Dojo), his YouTube channel, but most of all his commitment to help others learn. The sheer amount of time he takes to create his tutorials and his videos is simply awe-inspiring. They give you hands on experience, but also get you thinking about how you can do it better in the future. I'm privileged and proud to be part of both of his communities. They're a great place to be. This certification isn't just for me, it's for him too. Thanks Will.

Congrats Matt! I hope it wasn't as nerve-racking for you as it was for me! 😅 I'll be joining you over on Fabric Dojo over the next few months.
Celebrate Your Fabric Wins This Week!
Happy Friday everyone! It's Will here, just a short message - I'm seeing people make great progress in their Fabric learning and in their career, which is incredible. Lots of people getting new jobs, or getting certified, or building their first PoC in Fabric! Learning new skills is a long journey, so I think it's important to celebrate the small wins you have along the way. Let's use today to pause and reflect on what YOU'VE done recently - no matter how big or small - and celebrate these wins as a community. Post your Fabric Wins of this week (or recent weeks), maybe you: - Completed a lesson or module? - Built something new in Fabric? - Passed a certification? - Landed a new job? Let's hear about it! Let's spread some positive vibes going into the weekend!!💪

I got Fabric Link working and have a functional proof of concept for using it even as we transition from Synapse to Fabric ... slowly... :(
How do you handle Type 2 Dimensional Tables
Hi, what is the best way to creating a relationship between a Type 2-Dimensional table and a fact table. Should this be addressed at the data ingestion stage into the lake house or at the Source level, Is current=1? or can it be addressed at the semantic layer. Because M:M permissible as expected but not 1:M which is what is required. A goal in mind not to lose historical data as well

is_current is definitely an option, but I personally prefer having a dim_item and dim_item_historic, basically an archive of the old versions. To bring it into the semantic model and join on a single field, we use a bigint surrogate key that we bring in to the fact table. That way the relationship is based on a 1:M and it's a bigint, which is faster than using something like a hash or concatenated string. That's as simplified of an answer as I can give :)
D365 Fabric Link - Refresh Frequency
Hi Everyone, I've connected D365 to Fabric using FabricLink which gets the D365 data into Fabric very nicely but is on a 20-30 minute delay. For some reports I need almost live data (1 minute ish refresh), does anyone know a way of changing the refresh frequency for certain tables or any other options? Thanks

I'm glad I saw this post, as we're transitioning from Synapse Link (which is horrible, lol) to Fabric Link over the next few months. Please keep us posted as you learn more and gather information about refresh frequency!
