What are your thoughts on layering? Specifically snares and kicks to create a unique sound. What is something that helps you manage the increase in volume?
@Phillip Patterson @Kat V. this is standard practise in Electronic, across everything including kick, snare, percs, bass, lead, pads, fills. Layering/blending call it what you want you are enhancing and creating interest or fatness. Understandably Rock or live sounding songs ie artist recorded, intention is to keep as close to source with enlargement but anything else you are looking for full spectrum impact during the creative process, you can tone it all down later in the mix to fit.
@Jacky Brister of course. Different music requires different loudness to get the best out of it. This specific target in the question is for aggressive style music.
Is anyone here looking to have some new songs mastered? I'm always looking for new material to work on, but I need musicians like you all since I don't make any music myself and otherwise have nothing to do.
