Back 90s, I worked as a wine and spirits sales person across the Munster region in the south of Ireland.
I had a 4 week route covering my accounts. Its was pretty straight foward, I dropped in to shops see if their shelves were empty of wine and order the wine to be delieved to them 5 days later.
Things have changed a lot over the years from selling to my neighours to selling across contingents and helping 100s of other business grow too. That said it's important to share startegies to maximise sells and here is one suggest stragegy. Alex Hormozi’s C.L.O.S.E.R Framework.
So what’s the C.L.O.S.E.R. Framework?
Let me break it down for you:
  1. Clarify why they’re there: Start by figuring out what your prospect wants. Back in the Wine days, this would have saved me from pitching the "luxury suite" to someone just looking for a quick, ghost-free nap.
  2. Label them with a problem: Identify and label their specific pain point. Whether it’s not enough bookings or their ad spend going up in smoke, people appreciate when you "get" them.
  3. Overview their past pain: Talk about where things went wrong in the past. Think of it as re-opening the wound – gently. (Though, I wouldn’t recommend doing this over a glass of wine. Trust me.)
  4. Sell them the vacation: This is where the magic happens. Paint the picture of their ideal solution, whether it’s a beach getaway or, in this case, skyrocketing ad conversions.
  5. Explain away their concerns: Objections? No problem. Address them head-on with confidence.
  6. Reinforce their decision: You want them walking away feeling like they’ve just won the jackpot.
I wish I had known this along my sales journey. But late is better than never. From today, you'll have this powerful tool right in your back pocket, so your sales don’t have to feel like guesswork.
