Christmas riddle answered
The Great Gingerbread Fiasco
It was a snowy afternoon, and the grandkids were busy turning the kitchen into a flour-covered disaster zone. Grandma and Grandpa stood nearby, watching the chaos with amused grins. “Okay, kids,” Grandma said, tying her apron. “Let’s make gingerbread men. But remember, patience is key.” “We’re pros, Grandma!” said Lily confidently. Ten minutes later, the dough was stuck to the ceiling, Grandpa’s glasses, and somehow, the dog. Grandpa chuckled. “Patience, huh? I think we skipped that step!” Determined to teach a lesson, Grandma handed the kids toothpicks and marshmallows. “Let’s practice building first.” Soon, they were engrossed in constructing marshmallow towers. “Hey, this is fun!” said Jack. “And way less messy!” As they proudly showed off their creations, Grandpa snuck over to the oven. When they weren’t looking, he swapped their lumpy gingerbread men for his pre-made perfect ones. “Wow, look at our cookies!” Lily gasped when she saw the freshly baked treats. “We’re amazing!” Grandma laughed and said, “Amazing, yes. But also lucky Grandpa has a head start. Patience takes practice.” The grandkids nodded thoughtfully. Later that night, they surprised Grandma and Grandpa with a plate of perfectly decorated cookies. “How’d you do it?” Grandpa asked. Lily grinned. “We waited, measured, and maybe… bribed the dog to stay out of the kitchen.” Grandpa winked. “Now you’re getting it.” The house was filled with laughter, cookies, and just the right amount of patience to make the sweetest holiday memory. Do you have a holiday memory with a grandparent or special person? I'd love to hear.
