Group on pause for an indefinite period
Due to a lack of activity within the group and because I have the chance to have many other great projects to manage, I've decided to very soon put the group on pause for an indefinite period. I hope to be able to reactivate it in the near future and give it the time it deserves! If, however, you wish to continue to follow my personal activities around Karate and personal development, do not hesitate to consult my website! πŸ‘‰ https://yushingeiko.com There you will find regular articles about Karate and a monthly live online Karate class in english. Thank you all for being there during these few months. Wish you the best, Cheers! OSS. Nicolas

The JKA under the leadership of Nakayama Shihan
Nakayama Masatoshi Shihan (Shihan roughly means "teacher" or "master") was the chief instructor of the famous JKA (Japan Karate Association) from the time Gichin Funakoshi (who introduced Karate to Japan) passed away in the late 1950s, until his death in the late 1980s. Under his leadership, the majority of Shotokan Karate-do in Japan was unified under the banner of this feared and respected organization (you can understand why by watching the video! πŸ˜‰). A real feat because at that time the JKA had in its ranks the most formidable Karate-ka in the world, so many very strong characters who must have been very difficult to manage! This was also confirmed upon his death because the JKA immediately broke up into several factions (which led to a legal battle lasting almost 10 years over the preservation of the JKA name). The Nakayama era was truly the golden age of the JKA. Indeed, with a meticulous and detailed organization of the Karate in schools, universities, Dōjo and Kenshusei (the infamous JKA instructor training), and a very rigorous teaching methodology, they were able to raise the skills of their instructors and competitors to a truly incredible and rarely equaled level. In fact, today most of the Sensei who lead the top Traditional Shotokan organization in the world come from the then unified JKA and its famous Kenshusei. This video shows some great footage of these feared masters in their young ages as they were training in the famous JKA Hombu Dojo (headquarters) in Tokyo - Ebisu (which sadly became a restaurant in the late 1990s!), under the watchful eye of the late Nakayama Shihan. For Karate beginners, don't be afraid of what you can see in these kind of videos, because they show nothing less than the best Karate-ka in the world! πŸ˜… This is just for inspiration purpose, to have an image of what great Karate is and a goal to aim for when we train! Hope you will enjoy it! πŸ”₯πŸ‘Š OSS! Nicolas

Inspirational Posts
I just created a new post category called "Inspiration / Motivation πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ". I will regularly post short inspiring content there which I sometimes publish on other social networks such as Facebook, Instagram or Youtube. The purpose of these posts is to regularly give us a fresh dose of β€œMind Vitamin” to help us improve our daily lives and of course our martial arts training. Feel free to post in this category any quotes or thoughts that inspire you and that could inspire us all! Everything I post in this category is the result of my personal training and studies, as well as the influence of my Sensei, especially Tamang Pemba Shihan to whom I am very close. I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it! OSS! Nicolas
