Career Journeys Can Vary - Be Open to the Challenges
This past weekend, I had an eventful trip to DC to celebrate my birthday. What was meant to be a smooth getaway turned into a series of unexpected challenges, from flight delays to hotel and rental car issues. But as I reflect on this experience, I'm struck by how it mirrors our career journeys. Just as I had meticulously planned this trip, many of us envision a specific career path. However, life often has other plans. My own career trajectory is a testament to this: • Started my career in banking • Transitioned to HR and Recruiting • Unexpectedly found myself in supply chain • Became a Talent Consultant specializing in supply chain • Now, a career coach in supply chain and procurement, helping job seekers land their dream jobs. Each pivot brought new challenges, but also opportunities for growth and learning. The key takeaway? Embrace the unexpected turns in your career journey. The road to success is rarely a straight line. Stay open to new possibilities, and you might just discover a rewarding path you never anticipated. P.S. It’s my birthday today and I’m celebrating it with an open mind and open to what life has to offer.

Job Titles In Supply Chain You Can Be Considering
Hello Supply Chain Professionals! I recently was in conversations with some job seekers and the same questions kept coming about what job titles they should consider within the Supply Chain industry. From that, I gathered most people think supply chain careers are all about counting inventory and working as Analysts! They imagine supply chain analysts spending their days: • Staring at spreadsheets • Tracking packages • Arguing with suppliers on the phone But hold on, the truth is there are way more exciting jobs to consider in this industry that are WAY more exciting! In today's supply chain world, you could be anything from an Analyst to a Consultant. That can include: - Supply Chain Analyst: Data-driven insights for process optimization - Supply Chain Manager: End-to-end operations oversight and team leadership - Procurement Specialist: Strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management - Logistics Coordinator: Streamlining transportation and distribution - Supply Chain Consultant: Expert advisor for organizational optimization But that's just the tip of the iceberg! Here are more exciting roles in the supply chain field: - Demand Planner: Forecasting future product demand and aligning inventory - Sustainability Manager: Implementing eco-friendly practices across the supply chain - Supply Chain Technology Specialist: Leveraging AI, blockchain, and IoT for optimization - Global Trade Compliance Manager: Navigating international regulations and trade agreements - Risk Management Specialist: Identifying and mitigating supply chain vulnerabilities - Supply Chain Data Scientist: Using advanced analytics to drive decision-making - Reverse Logistics Manager: Optimizing product returns and recycling processes - Supply Chain Innovation Lead: Spearheading new technologies and methodologies - E-commerce Fulfillment Specialist: Ensuring seamless online order processing and delivery - Supply Chain Project Manager: Leading cross-functional teams to implement improvements
