WANTED: Self-Check In Solution
Dear All, @Olivera Semiz-Cerge is evaluating the option of a self check-in solution with minimal staffing at the reception due to cash-related issues. What kind of key-solution system are you using? Olivera, this company might be a good option to explore: https://www.cloudbeds.com/guest-engagement-software/ - Based on the info on the website, they already use AI in some modules - so localization in Serbian language maybe not an issue. Another option could be https://hotelbird.com/en/products/online-check-in/ I have posted the request on Linkedin HERE - I will keep you posted. Good luck. Radka

Fancy to have more bookings from Germany?
Before I moved to Germany, I had no idea how obsessed Germans are with holidays, planning, and something called "Brückentage." These "bridge days" are strategically placed holidays that Germans use to create extended weekends by taking a single vacation day to bridge the gap between a public holiday and a weekend. It's a unique cultural phenomenon that shapes everything from travel plans to family gatherings, and as I learned, it has a significant impact on the hospitality industry too. Make sure that you monitor performance from Germany on those days. Remember, Germany has 16 federal states (Bundesländer), and it may vary slightly for some of them. Some bank holidays are not observed nationwide. You may find out more about "Brückentage" in this lesson. Toast to your success! Radka

WEEK 43 - If you would like to see the change, BE THE CHANGE
Yesterday, I experienced it again. If you want to see a change in your life, BE the change. It all starts with small decisions—stepping out of your routine and embracing new experiences, even in the smallest ways. Here’s my two cents: Yesterday, I went to a Deep Purple concert. It's not really my kind of music, and I knew only two or three songs. Spending €100 on a ticket for something I wasn’t sure I’d enjoy? I hesitated. But I went anyway because it was my friend’s birthday, and we wanted to celebrate together. It turned out to be an unforgettable experience. Sometimes, trying something new, even if it’s out of your comfort zone, can bring unexpected joy. By doing things differently, you activate new "wires" in your brain. You start to see and experience things in ways you wouldn't have without this shift. This activation can change how you perceive the world, opening doors to opportunities and experiences that would have otherwise stayed closed. The key is to be conscious of what's happening around you and respond to it mindfully. In hospitality, it’s the same idea. Small changes make a big difference: - Take 5 minutes to check in on your guests in a way you’ve never done before—whether it’s a quick, personal greeting, asking about their day, or offering them a thoughtful little extra. - Try a different approach to your daily tasks: if you’ve always handled requests or complaints one way, try a new perspective. - Change how you approach teamwork, maybe asking a colleague for input on something you typically handle alone. - Add a small, unexpected touch to your guest experience—like leaving a handwritten note or offering a complimentary drink. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never done these things before. The important thing is that you start. Even if it’s just for five minutes, this small step will spark change. The ripple effect of these little actions will begin to reshape your mindset, your interactions, and ultimately your impact in hospitality. Be the change, and watch as the world around you shifts!
