Post-18 Planning
Hi all! 👋 Just looking for some advice as I’m planning what to do after Year 13 since I’ll be finishing Sixth Form in the summer of 2025. Traveling has always been a dream of mine, so taking a gap year is high on my list. I've been working part-time and saving up for a couple of years, so I could afford to make it happen. Here’s the rough plan if I do take a gap year: 1. Interailling Europe with a Friend (July - August) 2. Working Holiday in Australia (September - December) 3. Traveling around Southeast Asia (December - April) 4. Camp America (May - August) But there’s also this other part of me that really wants to live abroad long-term (CA). So instead of just travelling for one year, and rinising my savings, I'm considering ways to work and settle in a new place, after finishing a degree, however this option is more time consuming as I won't get to travel straight away. I do understand I could do a gap year, and ALSO move abroad after my degree however it may take longer due to financial pressures, as moving to Canada on an IEC Visa will most probably cost around £5000 in terms of fully settling in. Here’s what I’m thinking in simple terms, but I’m open to any suggestions: 1. Gap Year → University → Move Abroad OR 2. University/Degree Apprenticeship (if I get accepted) → Move Abroad With the money I've saved, I could skip the gap year altogether and head straight to Canada on an IEC visa for two years, which would set me up financially. Please keep in mind I could still travel during my extended university summer's, and also do a 'Year Abroad' through university which would be great. If anyone has any advice, especially if you’ve done something similar, I’d love to hear it! 😊 Thanks in advance for reading, and all your responses!

Hello folks!
Hello everyone. I'm currently in the process of selling everything I own in the US and headed to Thailand. I'm looking forward to exploring SE Asia and finding a spot for my home base. I'm excited about getting rid of all the crap I've accumulated and exploring whole new worlds and cultures. I hope to meet some of you soon. I'm aiming to be in Thailand by mid-November...ideally earlier to avoid the US election shitshow LOL
