Post-18 Planning
Hi all! 👋 Just looking for some advice as I’m planning what to do after Year 13 since I’ll be finishing Sixth Form in the summer of 2025. Traveling has always been a dream of mine, so taking a gap year is high on my list. I've been working part-time and saving up for a couple of years, so I could afford to make it happen. Here’s the rough plan if I do take a gap year: 1. Interailling Europe with a Friend (July - August) 2. Working Holiday in Australia (September - December) 3. Traveling around Southeast Asia (December - April) 4. Camp America (May - August) But there’s also this other part of me that really wants to live abroad long-term (CA). So instead of just travelling for one year, and rinising my savings, I'm considering ways to work and settle in a new place, after finishing a degree, however this option is more time consuming as I won't get to travel straight away. I do understand I could do a gap year, and ALSO move abroad after my degree however it may take longer due to financial pressures, as moving to Canada on an IEC Visa will most probably cost around £5000 in terms of fully settling in. Here’s what I’m thinking in simple terms, but I’m open to any suggestions: 1. Gap Year → University → Move Abroad OR 2. University/Degree Apprenticeship (if I get accepted) → Move Abroad With the money I've saved, I could skip the gap year altogether and head straight to Canada on an IEC visa for two years, which would set me up financially. Please keep in mind I could still travel during my extended university summer's, and also do a 'Year Abroad' through university which would be great. If anyone has any advice, especially if you’ve done something similar, I’d love to hear it! 😊 Thanks in advance for reading, and all your responses!

@Karen Oliver Hi Karen thank you for your advice. The course I am interested in is 'International Business', and I know Canada has a great financial hub for jobs relating towards this. And yes you are right, maybe I will discover another part of the world I love. I already have fond memories of living in New Zealand during my childhood, so I know how impactful different experiences can be. Thanks Karen.

Planning my 2025 Gap Year After My ALEVELs
Hi all, my names Adam and am currently a student in the UK. If you end up helping me in anyway I will be forever grateful. A backround story, in 2025 I am planning to go travelling or go to university - the university route would hopefully be in America (which I know is complicated), or the UK. Either way, I have been looking into a degree within the Business feild. However, I have always wanted to go travelling, therefore am considering a gap year between schooling, and university. Within the gap year route, school exams finishing July 2025, I am planning to head straight of to INTERAIL Europe until the end of September. From there travel SE ASIA October until January. In Febuary till April, explore CENTRAL AMERICA - and finally become a camp counseler at CAMP AMERICA May till August. I know this is quite alot of information but would love to get views from anyone who has taken a gap year, or explored any of these places in general. Let me know what you would do, and how you would do it. Or any tips you have for me in general. Thank you so much!

How many countires have you been too?
I live in the UK right now, but lived in New Zealand for 4 years, and the rest of my family is from slovakia so I visit regularly. Personally I have been to over 20 countries, but what about you?! What's your favourite one?! What's the cheapest one?!
