Q for Self taught audio engineers
Hi everyone! New member, here👋🏾
Just a little backstory. I've recorded several songs over the years however, to me, they've never sounded quite the way the should (standard, radio/stream ready). Which, as ive come to notice, has kept me in a "post & delete" cycle. This comes down to the mixing. I've watched a ton of YouTube how-to's on the topic, yet the information just hasn't...connected.
it's my goal to be able to successfully mix my own music (affordability reasons)
I have also looked into having someone mix for me, but they usually only accept 1 - 5 stems. That simply won't do for the way I record. Also, I use an outdated macbook garageband daw that refuses to update.
SO, the question is, what are some of the most helpful tips you've gathered during your self-taught journey to mixing your own music?
