Word of mouth, street teams, and even flyers can help. We live in a social media era though, so creating engaging content is king.

I'll break down some more creative and effective options that grow your fan base and followers for your music: Content Creation and Social Media 1. Consistent Posting Schedule: Post regularly on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. Use a mix of performances, behind-the-scenes, and engaging content. 2. Collaborations: Work with other artists or influencers to cross-promote and reach new audiences. 3. Challenges and Trends: Create a music challenge around your song for TikTok or Instagram Reels. (This one really depends on how creative you truly are. Take that challenge head on and see your following explode!) 4. Live Streams: Host live Q&A sessions, acoustic performances, or songwriting processes on Instagram, YouTube, or Twitch. 5. Engage with Fans: Respond to comments and messages authentically, using polls, stickers, and questions in Stories. 6. Themed Content Series: Start a mini-series like "Song Stories" where you explain the inspiration behind your tracks. Digital Marketing 7. Paid Ads: Use Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok ads with targeted campaigns focusing on your ideal audience. 8. SEO Optimization: Add keywords to your YouTube, website, and social media profiles to make them discoverable. 9. Influencer Marketing: Collaborate with niche influencers who align with your music genre to promote your songs. (This one isn't as effective as it once was and is honestly closer to gambling. If you do choose this route, try to hit up several smaller influencers than just one huge one that eats up the budget of 10 other content creators.) Engaging Your Community 10. Exclusive Fan Groups: Create a private Facebook group or Discord server for your most engaged fans. 11. Fan-Created Content: Encourage fans to create content using your music and reshare their posts. 12. Street Teams: Organize small groups of passionate fans to promote your music online or offline. 13. Crowdfunding Campaigns: Engage fans through platforms like Patreon or Kickstarter for exclusive content or merchandise.

Do you know where the nearest place to get screen printed shirts are, their prices, and how many you need to get from a wholesaler for those shirts to come out as cheap as possible? Oftentimes making an online merchandise store is better than having product on hand, but I personally do both.

@Eddie Carey thats about 14 dollars with taxes and shipping per individual unit, depending on if you screen print them, direct-to-garment, or direct-to-film. If you look around you can get bulk orders between 35-75 shirts at a price of 8 or 9 dollars a piece.
Free 30 min. voice lesson from a vocal coach? (Singers & Rappers)
Hey guys! I hope it's ok that I share this here. In addition to being an aspiring artist I'm also a vocal coach and I really want to work with artists who are passionate about becoming better. I've been coaching exclusively online since 2020 and right now my client base is mostly beginners or people who have great voices but don't want a professional career. I would love to give a free voice lesson to 10 people who are serious about getting better and have vocal challenges they need help with overcoming. A lot of time people like us have natural talent but maybe not actual technique so we experience vocal strain, fatigue, or not singing in tune. I have a degree in vocal performance and have invested thousands of dollars into becoming a knowledgeable vocal coach so I can definitely help you with technique and would love to help you find the balance between using technique and still showing up as your authentic self. If you're interested please let me know in this post and I'll shoot you a message to let you know how to set it up. Here are some before and afters, a singing tip and an example of me singing :) p.s. I'd love to be able to use the recording as social proof or even get a testimonial from you in exchange for the free lesson if you're open to that.

Making $ with your music??
Hi! I need some motivation. Are there any people out here actually making money from your music. Like, a livable wage? I'm a vocal coach and artist and almost 100% of my income comes from teaching voice lessons. My YouTube channel recently became monetized which is nice but the videos that are contributing to $ don't have to do with my music at the moment. What are the different revenue streams you have with your music? Please share! Thanks in advance!

¡Qué tal, comunidad! What's good, Shari? This is Ángel Gattz, lead singer of Planeta Gattz. I hear you—making a living off music isn’t easy, but it’s possible if you diversify and stay consistent. Here’s how I’ve been able to make it work: 1. Touring: This is one of the main revenue streams for me and my band. We focus on small to mid-sized venues with a dedicated audience, and we aim to make each show a full experience. Selling tickets, merch, and VIP packages at these events adds up. Find your niche and stick to it. I started doing gigs in Mexico at the age of 14 with the two bands my uncles managed, so having over a decade of experience has taught me how to get the most out of my niche. 2. Producing for Other Artists: Producing music for other artists not only helps pay the bills but also expands my network. This creates opportunities for collaborations and exposes me to different styles. I've written for rappers, country artists, folk-pop artists, and contemporary Christian artists even though I mainly make latin pop-rock ballads. Don't be afraid to reach and and connect with people. 3. Marketing Services: I offer marketing strategies for artists looking to build their presence on social media or structure a music release. Sharing what works for us helps other artists while generating side income. It all about providing a service to people. No one cares about you or your music until you care about them and their needs. 4. Writing for Others: Writing songs for other artists, both as a ghostwriter and credited collaborator, has been huge. Licensing songs for other projects, like commercials, ads, and sync licensing, has also started to bring in revenue. 5. Merchandising: We put a lot of effort into creating designs that resonate with fans—t-shirts, hoodies, hats, bags, and lots of other little trinkets. A strong merch line is a great way to bring in extra income, but make sure it's merch someone that would be your ideal fan and you yourself would wear. If you don't love your merch, why should someone else?

@Shari Bennett-Jackson You are very welcome! I don't know if you've heard the phrase "death by a thousand papercuts," but that's my mantra. If you have 1 song out that gets you 1 million streams a month, with a monthly streaming payouts of 3,000-4,000 USD per million streams, that's wildly impressive and unattainable for even mainstream artists. Now let's say you have 10 songs out. Now each one only has to reach 100,000 streams a month to make the same profit. Thats 3333 streams a day per song to make that same amount. Now that's still a lot. What if you have 100 songs out? Now 333 streams per song per day seems way more doable. That still doesn't cover the bills yet though. Now you need to supplement your income with merchandise or digital product sales. Sell courses and free "meet and greet" teaching sessions to whoever signs up to your mailing list. Since you teach, you can also offer a VIP packages to your fans on Patreon, Grouped, or your own personal website where you can teach them one on one of how you write your songs. I'd personally pay thousands of dollars to have Benny Blanco, Max Martin, Ed Sheeran, or Muni Long teach me how to write hit songs. Go above and beyond for your fans. Treat them like your friends and family. You'll eventually find your blueprint your success.
