School meals (Kyushoku きゅうしょく) in Japan 1🍱
At my public elementary and junior high school, we had school meals every day!
(except weekends)
(Side note: some junior high schools didn’t offer school meals… 😅)
Each meal (lunch) was prepared fresh in the school’s kitchen.
Here’s the scoop on how our school meals worked and what they were like:
Students Help Serve:
Kids help set up and serve lunch in their classroom.
We took turns, so everyone got a chance to help. It was like teamwork at lunch!
Fridays were my favorite!
We’d often have curry rice with a dessert like orange jello. 🍛🍊
Did you have it when you are in elementary school or junior high (middle school)?
