Introduction
Hello, I am a 29yo martial arts enthusiast with health problems which keep me from training regularly and inside of a gym but I am psyched about drilling techniques on my own when my health allows me to. Before, I trained a little bit of judo, and a lot of karate and capoeira. I even started MMA classes for a few months until my health deteriorated. Sites like this allow me to reconnect with my passion.

Most fighters train the calf kick wrong
When I watch guys practicing, I often see the “traditional” version: a nice combination, finished off with a calf kick. The problem? That’s not how it actually shows up in competition. In real fights, calf kicks usually land in two ways: 1. As a direct attack 2. When the opponent is stepping forward If you only train it as a finishing touch to a combo, you’ll miss the timing and the setups that make it effective under pressure. The key is learning how to use your feet and positioning to create the opening. Here’s one way I like to do it 👇 👉 How do you set up your calf kick? Drop your favorite setup in the comments!
