Bambu just got sued.
Here is the TLDR:
Stratasys (A USA based 3D printing manufacturing company) is Suing BambuLabs over infringing on several of their patents in which they hold the rights to within the United States.
Now
Here is some more details about it.
The lawsuit alleges that Bambu Labs' 3D printers, including models like the X1-Carbon and P1P, infringe on Stratasys' patent related to additive manufacturing with purge towers.
Stratasys is claiming that they own the patent to using purge towers, more specifically when the AMS switches colors to have a much cleaner filament transition.
Stratasys also claims Bambu Labs directly and indirectly infringes on their patent by manufacturing, selling, and using these 3D printers in the United States. The lawsuit seeks to hold Bambu Labs accountable for unauthorized use of their patented technology.
What does this mean for you?
Probably nothing, at least not yet.
IMO its seems like Stratasys just wanted to retain some of their market share and by initiating a lawsuit they can put pressure on Bambu since they are "somewhat" direct competitors
I've also attached the document to the recent court filing down below if you'd like to read it.
I'm curious to see how this pans out - I've also attached a video on it which I think this creator does a good job covering it.
