There’s a moment in every journey when resistance shows up. It could be external—opposition, setbacks, unexpected obstacles—or internal—fear, doubt, the weight of past failures. It’s that point where many give up, convinced that the obstacles in front of them mean they should turn back.
But what if the resistance you’re feeling is actually confirmation that you’re on the right path?
I’ve learned that the greatest breakthroughs often come after we face the most resistance. It’s in those moments that we’re given a choice: will we stop, give in to the pressure, and let the resistance win? Or will we press on, even when it feels like everything is pushing against us?
Paul writes in Philippians 3:14, “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” He knew what it was to face opposition, but he kept moving forward because his vision of the goal was greater than the obstacles in front of him.
Resistance doesn’t mean you’re off track; sometimes, it’s the very thing that sharpens your resolve and strengthens your faith.
So, if you’re feeling resistance right now, press on. You’re closer than you think.
Reflection:
What resistance are you facing today? What’s one step you can take to press forward despite it? Remember, resistance is not your cue to stop; it’s your invitation to keep going.
