Evolution of Chickens
"Over the past 60 years, chickens have grown 364%. In the 1940s, chicken was a luxury, costing around $3 - equivalent to $30 today, adjusted for inflation. However, modern chicken farming has led to alarming changes.
The average chicken now:
- Grows twice as fast
- Weighs 3.5 times more
But at what cost? Chickens are designed to eat a diverse diet, including:
- Grass
- Bugs
- Various plants
Instead, they're primarily fed:
- Corn 🚫
- Soy 🚫
To fatten them up quickly. This diet not only makes them obese but also alters their fat composition.
The omega-6 to omega-3 ratio in modern chickens can reach 20:1, triple that of pasture-raised chicken."
