What is your opinion on this?

My sales guy sends me a phone number to a potential client. He told me to give her a call since she has questions about the equipments we have. I didn’t do any research who that customer was and gave them a call on the spot. While the lady is talking to me and telling me about her business, the freight sounds very familiar to me. I asked her for her business name and to find out my trucks pick up loads at her location often. I asked her who is her broker and she told me xyz brokerage. I told her I am very sorry but I can not work with her since I work with that broker daily. I finished my conversation with “ I have been in this business for a while and I have built a name for myself. Unfortunately I can’t backstab the xyz brokerage since I have a great relationship with that broker” she was very happy and surprised with me.

What would you guys have done if you were a carrier?
