Broker Transparency
Whats your take on the new enforcement of the Transparency rule That a Freight Broker will have to provide their carriers documentation showing the rate the Shipper paid the Broker? Anybody have something to say about this? LOL

If a carrier gets the rates he is looking for, then he should be happy to deliver anyway. If he does not get the rate he wants, he has the choice of moving on, getting his own customers or negotiating with the broker more. I don't deal with bottom dollar, cheap freight or shippers. The more that brokers stand up to them, the more they have to think about raising rates. However, right now, there will someone who deals with them and will move their freight. Going on strike is not going to bother the good brokers, carriers or shippers. They will still be moving freight. We need to all learn how to get along.

@Jean Charles It will create a race to the bottom like you have never seen. Carriers will know what the shipper was paying, ask for less, and the carrier after that will ask for less. Until there is barely any left at all. If a shipper is paying well and a broker is bragging about it, then scammers will target that shipper. There is no end to the nightmare that it will create. If I was a driver, I would go where the money is and try to get my share of it, even it means bidding a "little lower".
Co-Brokering
Good afternoon EVERYONE! I have a question and am hoping I can get a bit of advice as I am a bit new to the industry. I am an active freight broker, and I randomly received an email from another active broker. Small company asking if I would be willing to co-broker for/with them as an independent contractor. I spoke to the fellow and he sounded like a nice guy but in the day we live in I am always skeptical and trust NO ONE. Sooo, he did send me over his blank co- brokering agreement, SAFER snapshot, and his surety bond. Then he requested I send him my W9, surety bond, and for me to send back signed agreement. What I am wondering is has anyone had experience co-brokering? How do I protect myself from being scammed? I have no big red flags that makes me feel like I am getting scammed I am just always skeptical and feel like there is way to stay protected somehow. Should I make up my own contractual agreement to have him sign? What would you do?

I would not do this. It is too much liability. To many variables in the background. No matter how many pages of contract you sign, they can always disappear when the unthinkable happens.
