Welcome! Please Introduce Yourself and Answer: Why is Energy Savviness Important to You?
As an 11-year veteran in home services, I've gotten the opportunity to help thousands of people address their energy needs, all with unique challenges and scenarios. After my 6-year career in the solar industry, I was dissatisfied. I found many elements I would do differently and decided to dive deep into building science and energy efficiency education, getting certified by the Building Performance Institute (BPI) for energy auditing and whole home energy upgrades. If more people knew what I know, they would be (almost) as convicted as I am to address the epidemic of wasteful energy practices and misguided solutions across the board AND: - Energy bills would be 30-50-100% lower - Everyone could effectively read their utility bill, pre- and post- solar - Utilities and solar companies couldn't scam homeowners as often - People would be less stressed and more confident about their energy usage - People would know exactly how to think about solar and when to apply it - Homes would be more comfortable, less, drafty, safer, and more durable - Appliances would last longer - The near future A.I calamity that's about to strike the electrical grid won't be as much of a shock to society - Homeowners would have a plan for battery and generator backup to protect their family in an outage - Homeowner's would have a plan to sell power to the grid at peak times (when that inevitable time comes) - Homeowners would have a plan to get as much funding from the government for whole-home energy upgrades as much as possible I could keep going but I won't..... So...... - The Energy Savvy Society was Born! Whether you are a hopeful or current homeowner, energy wizard, or other energy-related professional (which is just about everything), this community will help demystify the entire energy planning conversation. The purpose of this community is to empower intelligent energy planning for every homeowner with as little friction as possible. Welcome!
