Educators need to be marketers as well? [Friday Coffee Corner]
Just had an amazing interview with Dr. Anthony Metivier, a University Professor, TEDx Talk Speaker, and Best-selling Author. And here are some of the best insight I get form him: - If you want your students to read, share your excitement about books so that even the most skeptical students wanted to at least check out why you were so interested in something. - Good teaching involves a bit or marketing, it is almost as if you are “selling” the work that goes into it. - Niche down and focus on smaller units of interest. I believe educators are not just people who teach, but some form of marketers as well, we need to "sell" our ideas to our students.

Education as your second career? [Friday Coffee Corner]
This week have been BUSY, I got sick, rushing on the backlog of emails...being an entrepreneur and educator is really hard. But the good news is, I've just had an inspiring conversation with Shani Chen, Ed.D.—an educator who transitioned into teaching as a second career and is now a College & Career Readiness Coach! Her journey is a reminder that our paths don’t always go as planned, but sometimes that’s where the magic happens. Here’s what stood out: 🔄 Embrace the Pivot: Don’t be afraid to change directions if something feels off. Shani moved from elementary to high school teaching—and found her true calling. ✨ Protect Their Minds: Teen brains are still developing! Shani reminded us to create a safe space so they can grow and thrive. ❤️ Love What You Do: Your students will feel it. If you’re passionate, they’ll be too! Question for you: What pivotal moments or shifts have shaped your journey in education? Share your story below—we’d love to hear it! 👇 #Educators #CareerPivot #Inspiration #TeachngCommunity

Can a Teacher be an Entrepreneur? [Friday Coffee Corner]
Just wrapped up an eye-opening interview with Richard Robbins—a teacher-turned-entrepreneur who’s brought his 21 years of experience to classrooms in China, a thriving homeschool, and his own business ventures. Here are some golden nuggets from Richard’s journey: 🔄 Keep Learning, Always: Richard believes being an eager learner is one of the best ways to inspire students. 👩‍🏫 Challenge Your Students: Encourage questions and critical thinking! This goes beyond the textbook and helps students truly understand and grow. 👨‍👧‍👦 Involve Family: Richard homeschools his 8 kids and runs a family business, teaching them hands-on skills in everything from business to personal finance. 💪 Adapt and Thrive: From teaching English in China without knowing Mandarin to running his family business, success lies in the power of resilience and adaptability. Ok! So, which takeaway resonates with you most? #EducatorEntrepreneur #TeachingJourney #InspiredLearning #EntrepreneurLife #EducationCommunity

Learn to adapt if you want to grow [Friday Coffee Corner]
A few days ago, I had an inspiring conversation with an educator with a business mindset. Brendan’s journey from community tutor to education entrepreneur is packed with wisdom for all of us—especially those of us building our own educational ventures! Here’s what really stood out: 🌱 Adaptability is Everything: Every student is unique, and flexibility in teaching helps us connect deeply and make a lasting impact. 🌱 Make Learning Relatable: He emphasizes using interactive activities and real-world applications to keep students engaged. It’s a reminder to meet learners where they are. 🌱 Never Stop Growing: Teaching is a journey, and building a strong support network can help us stay motivated and grow alongside our students. What’s your biggest takeaway from the word "adapt"?💬 #Educators #Entrepreneurship #TeachingJourney #Inspiration 👉 Read the Full Interview Here: https://teachng.com/interview/brendan-brown/

Question...who is an Educator exactly? [Friday Coffee Corner]
I've interviewed many educators today, and this keep me thinking. Who is an educator? Does being an educator means to be someone who've gone through professional training in education? Yes? No? Not sure? My recent interview with one of the educator helped me shade some light. “Like a leader doesn’t need a title to lead, neither does an educator need a title to make a positive impact on people.” I just love the definition of an educator. An educator don't need a title An educator don't need a position An educator is a person that make positive impact to people.
