Personally I use Airtable because it's a database, and allow me to build a Content Management System that is scalable and automated.
Now you can create a system in Notion, or ClickUp, but those tools are primarily page organization apps, or project management tools. They are not databases FIRST.
Airtable is a database and can handle scale and can track fields and automate things while ensuring nothing falls apart.
is airtable just for your content systems or do you use it for other use cases.....trying to dial in software using less and getting more. i know the native automations in airtable etc, but for project management do you suggest airtable still bc for content isn't it focused on projects
300 plus teams are using my airtable to run their content programs including 40 person content teams. Airtable can manage projects but first and foremost you need a CMS. have you seen any of my content system videos?
My current solution is using Notion for ideas, note taking and outlining. Airtable is used for projects that are active, client work and contact management system.
Notion is much better at free flow and organic ideas - especially for us with ADHD :)
Airtable creates a structure and solid base to build on. I don't like this when I'm coming up with ideas, but I find it helpful to focus when I have an organized to process to follow.
We did a webinar on this a while back where I shared my system - happy to make a quick video if it would be helpful.
I found Click Up hard to work with - 100% a Me problem because it worked fine but for some reason I didn't enjoy the interface.
help me understand how 1.5 million subscribers has anything to do with how you manage content?
1.5 million subs tells me they know how to create good content. And the fact that its getting published means their system is good enough to get it done. So that's obviously a win, but it doesn't mean that its the best way to do it or that its actually working well (or that the team likes it).
Thanks to you, Stephen, I'm looking forward to learning how to use Airtable every day, especially for automation.
Yesterday, I integrated the Airtable token directly into my Voiceflow chatbot (instead of going through the extra step of make.com) to record leads and a few questions asked on the Airtable form.
The leads then receive an e-mail directly afterwards, in connection with their answer.
I'm now looking at how to optimize this process.
As for Notion, I'm just discovering it and I think I'm going to use it for my customer onboarding, what do you all think?
Notion is the way to go, it has integrated AI that makes you no longer prisoner processor and takes input from multiple data sources like slack channels, no need to pay for ChatGPT. I used it to keep track of side hustlers.
Also Airtable is more granular and allows for better automations, and way better control.
I use both. Notion for feudal incubators and to organize content into red pill and blue, classifying tasks.
It’s more mobile friendly than Airtable. Airtable good for desktop, and for clients that need fully blown content systems.
Ultimately you need both, can’t just have entire organizational structure in Airtable, it will not be intuitive.
In my case if I want to flip my company I can quickly show entire organizational structure in Notion.
Feudal lords are not exactly interested in looking into tables, but they want systems and ClickUp with Airtable is a good fit.
