What’s your truth?
The biggest mobile phone provider in the U.K offered me the role of ‘Sales training director’.
What an opportunity, my sales training would impact tens of thousands of team members in the U.K alone + many more around the world.
The role was also paying more per year than many earn in 20 years.
So, what was the problem?
I literally can’t teach someone to sell more phones.
I’m not passionate about it, I have zero desire to show others how to do it and I don’t care about the pay check.
So I declined.
This isn’t the first time this has happened either.
I’ve been offered many roles over the years, one director even took me for lunch and took a blank piece of paper and said “write down a figure you want to be paid and I’ll make it happen”, I felt like I was in a scene in some Hollywood movie.
Again - I declined because it was selling IT solutions.
My truth, is to help those who can offer genuine transformations to their client.
I live by this, I’ve lost a tonne of money by not selling out to ‘opportunities’.
But I don’t care.
I care only about the truth.
So, my question to you.
What’s your truth?
Now - This is highly nuanced and I can almost guarantee you might be selling something you’re passionate about, but the WAY you’re selling it isn’t aligned with your truth.
So you get an immense amount of pain.
In this world, you have to be totally and utterly truthful.
When you’re not true to yourself, your client will feel this from you and ultimately, they won’t buy from you.
So, what’s your ultimate truth?
I have no clue what my truth is
I know what my truth is, but I’m struggling how to sell it
I make sales like crazy
