Thinking about Limiting beliefs tonight… as these are our most unexpected and often unseen personal ceilings.
Limiting beliefs are those little thoughts that pop up in our heads that either tell us what we can’t do, shouldn’t try, or simply aren’t good at. Or the most common is beliefs that we don’t even see are restricting us. The things that hold us back unconsciously from trying, acting or even conceiving due to an unconscious “outdated” foundation.
They're like invisible fences that keep us from exploring exciting opportunities or reaching new heights. If you believe you can’t do something, you probably won’t try very hard to do it, right and you certainly won’t even attempt the thought if it does not fit your concept of self! That's how these sneaky thoughts can affect our success.
Today I want it to be short and sweet with one action to follow. If you could spend 5-10 mins putting yourself in someone else’s shoe’s, choose someone who is already where you are want to be and see what thoughts, feelings or expectations would be different from your own. How different do you think they feel about what you want to achieve?
This one action can help you to get a different perspective, and it’s even better if you can role play with the imaginary person and interview them!! Try it if you can.
