& inspired me to clear the air. If youre wondering about the secret goose sauce-
It has less to do with me and more to do with the idea of authority vs authenticity.
Most will tell you to flex your achievements.
And that may work sometimes, like for a competition.
But if you are going to win the long game, youve gotta do the opposite too.
Outiside of the skool competition, I dont say shit about any money ive made
In fact i dont talk about my successes much at all.
MOST of what im usually doing is share all the ways Ive screwed up.
In public, in sales calls, on the toilet.
I wont say its the best strategy, but it is NECESSARY if you want to be surrounded by not fake people.
which can happen quickly in personal life and business if youre not careful.
Anyways, heres the 3 goose steps.
- Be open
- Be grateful
- Remove filter
By open i mean gentle to yourself and others in the face of resistance.
If someone is mean, it probably says more about them than you. No need to take it personal.
If someone says something wrong about you, try to gently correct them.
By grateful i mean constantly saying thank you for stupid things
it costs you nothing and gives value to others. dayum. How many things can do that?
And being open about where you steal ideas from.
Imitation is a form of flattery. Gratitude is a form of love.
By remove filter i mean pokemon & fuck you!
My friends and i often say it when we mean i love you.
not in a hyper masculine way, obviously.
Its in more of a "society says this is a weapon and i will misuse it" kind of way.
Even my team and i usually show each our middle fingers to say bye at the end of each call.
We redefine "bad" things into our own fun things that others might not understand.
a form of authenticity.
i have always openly liked pokemon and rainbows,
in school that ususally made people assume i was childish and gay.
but that didnt stop me from continuing it into adulthood. regardless what folks think
TLDR: just take all the qualities of being a good friend and do that all the time.
