Website
A while back @Corey Ralston had a post on his blog on using Carrd.co for a simple website for actors. As we are heading into a local actors expo where some local and regional management companies are attending, I wanted to my daughter to have a website so they could see beyond the headshot/resumé she will hand out. I followed Corey's advice and created a simple clean website. She has few credits so I didn't want to add a resume there but did add relevant links I believe. The slideshow currently has only two pictures but will have more - I just need to make the files smaller. I welcome any feedback!

The Importance of Video Examples for Aspiring Child Actors
As a youth talent manager, I can't stress enough how crucial it is for aspiring child actors to have a quality video example of their on-camera acting skills. Whether it's a well-crafted self-tape or a polished clip for a demo reel, this visual representation of your child's talent can be a game-changer in their budding career. In today's fast-paced entertainment industry, casting directors and talent reps are inundated with submissions. A strong video example allows your child to stand out from the crowd and showcase their unique abilities. It's an opportunity to demonstrate not just their look, but their ability to take direction, convey emotions, and bring characters to life. Here's why a video example is so valuable: 1. It showcases range: A good video clip can highlight various aspects of your child's talent - from dramatic scenes to comedic timing, or even special skills like accents or physical comedy. 2. It demonstrates professionalism: Having a well-prepared video shows that your child takes their craft seriously and understands industry expectations. 3. It saves time: Casting directors can quickly assess if your child might be right for a role, potentially leading to more audition opportunities. 4. It builds confidence: The process of creating and reviewing their performance can help your child become more comfortable in front of the camera and more assured in their abilities. Creating a quality video example doesn't require professional equipment. A smartphone with good lighting and clear audio in a quiet space can suffice. Focus on short, impactful scenes that highlight your child's strengths and versatility. Remember, authenticity is key. The goal isn't perfection, but to capture your child's unique personality and talent. This video is their chance to make a strong first impression and show the industry what makes them special. At Child Actor 101, we're committed to helping young actors succeed. That's why we're excited to offer our "Two Scenes" program, designed specifically to help aspiring child actors create professional-quality video examples.
